  1. The following link will bring you to a series of articles discussing the feminization of the Christian Church if you are interested in the topic: https://search.brave.com/search?q=Feminization+of+the+christian+church&source=desktop
  2. Yes, we all will be called haters and thought of as bigots and racists. Eventually, they will believe they are doing God a favor by killing us. Nothing new under the sun.
  3. Probably. I was viewing a YT video posted by an Orthodox Priest conversing on a survey he conducted on his facebook page. None of his peers know why the surge in seekers, but he did mention that they are also losing long time attendees as well. Nevertheless, many of the Churches participating in his survey have said that there is a need to increase the size of the parking lots and to try and accommodate the increase in attendance. Most of those responding were located in North America.
  4. Yes, I find it interesting noticing the sign of the times and remembering that Jesus is the testimony of the Spirit of prophecy.
  5. Yeah, if you look around there are a number of Orthodox priests discussing the why of a large influx of seekers pursuing membership within the Church and a rather sizable segment being young men. The priests do not make the claim of feminization of Protestant Churches, others are making that claim. Concerning the stale application in the preaching or programming of the Church services, This is my opinion and it's formed from how I perceive the same typical subjects being discussed or preached year after year without any variance which leads me to being dull of hearing if I don't challenge myself. In all fairness though, my attendance has only been through video media or print for a number of decades.
  6. Two things: * The feminization of many churches, where many men just do not have a sense of being welcomed and perhaps it plays into a large number of young men seeking fellowship in the Orthodox Church. * The never exiting the shallow teachings of the many churches. Never delving into the meat of Christianity, just keeping it shallow and mellow.
  7. Lam 1:9 can easily applied to any nation, or on a personal level, such as a community of faithless that once tasted the goodness of God and turned from Him. Hoping to see clearly, another dark age is probably approaching the developed world and perhaps the whole world. Another tyrannical feudal system may soon emerge to govern the masses.
  8. Well, here is where someone needs to inject the required Isaiah quote into the conversation, it may as well be me. :) Isa 55:6-11(ESV) 6“Seek the LORD while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; 7let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the LORD, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. 9For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. 10“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven and do not return there but water the earth, making it bring forth and sprout, giving seed to the sower and bread to the eater, 11so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and shall succeed in the thing for which I sent it. God blesses the just and the unjust alike, (Mat. 5:45), so I don't believe a person can judge how God views the self simply by observing blessings received. Having a relationship with Jesus - even if it's a rocky one - is probably a more appropriate means of measuring where one stands with God.
  9. Obstinate rebellion, not just rebellion due to being weak or spineless in sin, but knowing better and still choosing to reject salvation. The last act of defiance before oblivion. Should there be lamentations for such wickedness?
  10. The Lord's Spirit will not strive with man forever. Oh, the Lamentations! (Of Jeremiah)
  11. I can see how the Noahide Laws can be twisted to fulfill the will of the modern pagans. https://www.chabad.org/library/article_cdo/aid/62221/jewish/The-7-Noahide-Laws-Universal-Morality.htm
  12. It is Satan that is the deceiver of the whole world and all sin including your personal sin originated with the first rebel. So yes, Satan is the source of your troubles and he has been judged. Granted, once sinful habits have been established within you, they are self perpetuating.
  13. The creature behind these hardships has already been judged, it's just that the sentence hasn't yet been carried out. John 16:11, concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged. A believer needs to know or remember where in the flow of time one stands and have confidence that there is an end to this trial of physical life. John 16:33, I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”
  14. Rev. 19:10 (ESV), Last sentence in the verse: For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
  15. The wine press of the wrath of God is compressing. There is stress and pressure worldwide and just since the new year events seem to be compounding. Edit: Changed a word.
  16. Trouble, Sorrow, Need, Sickness, Or Any Other Adversity. 1. Unrealistic expectations. 2. Unreasonable demands. 3. Unbearable burdens. My three are: People, places and things. I haven't been to an AA meeting since I was still partaking of alcoholic beverages many years ago and this is what they teach. Every problem can be categorized within these three headings. To me trials reveal how unspiritual I am. If I can practice patience by waiting on the Eternal God to show me the way or outright bail me out as He as so often done, I manage through the ordeal. The trouble with practicing patience is that I'm always in need of some to begin applying it to my situation. When I lack, I see that I also am lacking in other fruits of the Spirit. And this is how I notice that I'm lacking in spirituality. I find that waiting upon the Lord will also humble me and surprisingly, I'm able to bear the burden of the trial.
  17. Rdj, Michael, never take sides! ever! Familiarity breeds contempt because of our faults and sins. My wife has a cousin and how she and her husband interact is always in an argumentative manner. Always. So very tiresome being around them. Haven't seen them in years! Hahaha.
  18. How do you respond when someone disagrees with your views, and, or challenges them? Depends on the topic and whom is doing the questioning. Is it my wife? Back in her cell she goes! (Or the kitchen). LOL! At times I will act childish and at times mature. If I just recently prayed or finished a bible study, my behavior will be much different than if I'm tired or have been in a secular mindset for a few hours involved with the cares of this world, which inadvertently, will be sure to happen.
  19. I believe that it's entirely up to the individual. I've seen old men with earrings, but never old and affluent men with earrings.
  20. Nah, I'm at a different place in my life.
  21. Idols can be almost anything that is placed ahead of God. A Christian may spend an hour in prayer and bible study and then game on a computer for 12 hours. Is this an idol?
  22. Jim Thorpe learned to overcome his childhood from having participated in one of these schools. Jim thorpe early life Jim Thorpe was born circa May 28, 1887, near current-day Prague, Oklahoma. He was a child of Sac and Fox and Potawatomi Indian bloodlines, as well as French and Irish roots. He was given the name Wa-Tho-Huk, meaning “Bright Path,” but christened Jacobus Franciscus Thorpe. Thorpe learned to hunt and trap prey at an early age, developing his legendary endurance via extensive excursions through Indian Territory. He grew up with his twin brother Charlie on a farm in Oklahoma, where he learned how to hunt, ride a horse, and set a trap. Jim loved playing in the outdoors. He wasn’t very tall, but he was athletic and strong. When Jim turned six years old, he and his brother Charlie went to attend the local Indian boarding school. More of his background can be found through this link: https://search.brave.com/search?q=jim+thorpe's+early+life&source=web
  23. Acts of kindness will have a lasting affect to unbelievers. I still recall acts of kindness by Christians toward me before I was Christian. I'm speaking 40+ years of remembrance.
  24. I've frequently said to others that instead of unit patches the uniforms should bear corporation patches signifying whom the unit is representing. Exxon Mobile, Shell, BP or perhaps Haliburton.
