Yes, Adam was a Son of God because he came directly from God and was not born of Humans. Messiah Jesus is both the Son of Man and Son of God. Although, Jesus was born of the Spirit of God, not Man (Joseph), he entered into our world through the womb of woman (Mary) so therefore technically a Son of Man also. Son of Man simply means born of Man, where as Son of God means born of God. Those who are born again are technically Sons/daughters of God. Over population is not a problem here on earth. Of all the livable land humans occupy less then 8% and this not include the oceans and deserts that can be terraformed for living or even sub-terraforming. There is plenty of livable land to support much greater amount of humans. As other have said, God commanded us to multiply and fill the earth. The earth is not filled by a long shot.
