  1. Hi, thanks alot! I only have regular TV so never saw Channel News Asia. But I could check it out on the internet. NHK also includes an anchor woman segment from Bangkok which is nice.
  2. These wonderful names of God help reveal God's nature to us. Aspects of these names are all revealed in Psalm 23. Jehovah-Rohi....The Lord my Shepherd. Jehovah-Jireh....The Lord shall provide. Jehovah-Rophe....The Lord our Healer.. Jehovah-Nissi....The Lord my banner. Jehovah-M'kaddesh....The Lord that sanctifies you. Jehovah-Shalom....The Lord our peace. Jehovah-Tsidkenu....The Lord our righteousness. Jehovah-Shammah....The Lord is there.
  3. A couple of posters mentioned having sleep paralysis during these attacks. Sleep paralysis does occur when we reach the REM stage of sleep where we start to dream. It might be possible that upon awaking the paralysis might linger a few or more seconds...not sure.
  4. If you can find a loving, Bible teaching church with sound doctrine, it's a wonderful thing. Currently I am not attending as my two former long time, churches went way, way liberal, and I am not able to travel far now to another church. But when I went I really loved hearing the good sermons and feeling renewed each Sunday as God's word went deep into my mind and spirit. I do think you should visit a few different fellowships to see if you feel led to one. You could always post the website and ask here if the church has good teachings. Since you seem to have many questions regarding the basics, a good church would be of help to you. And you might be very surprised at how much you will enjoy it.
  5. Glad you are over those days! Never a drinker at all here but I had to laugh at that alligator!
  6. My Neighbor, you are the ambitious one, aren't you?! Btw, I've heard on a TV commercial something about a non-surgical way to treat the knees. Some sort of injection, I think. Also, a friend uses some creme for her pains with that CBD stuff in it...she gets it on the internet and says it really works. She has hips that are scraping bone on bone so it does work. Hope you feel better!
  7. Heard more about this tonight....the woman said the alligator went straight for her red wines....the good stuff!
  8. Did you hear the one about..... Reported today: An eleven foot alligator broke into a home in FL in the middle of the night! He crashed through the window. He was found in the kitchen. I wonder if it was the same one who was trying to get in the door.... probably not, this one was in Clearwater, FL. Must have nearly given the homeowner a heart attack!
  9. I'm not a parent so I hope you don't mind me answering. I think when your baby is born that you will just love him or her. That will transcend your fears, I think. Too, the baby will get your mind off of yourself which will help. If you need help, do you have a nice church? Maybe some ladies might help a little?
  10. Yes, here it is. They help native missions around the world in poor and closed countries.... including Muslim countries. http://www.christianaid.org
  11. I find the Japanese news on NHK to be very objective....they just report it. Plus Japanese station, NHK, has some nice, interesting programs I sometimes watch.
  12. Yes, the 12 boys and their coach trapped two and a half miles inside the massive cavern by rising monsoon rain were finally rescued. 100 divers including Navy Seals helped with the rescue through murky waters. People were outside trying to pump out cave water as more heavy rains were due. One Navy Seal died inside the caves while transporting air tanks. The boys were put to sleep in order for the divers to transport them out of the caves on stretchers through the underwater narrow passages. A movie is being made on the story of this rescue.... https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tham_Luang_cave_rescue
  13. I had wondered about your waxing eloquently the other day. So starting a competition, hey?
  14. So sorry....yes, that company should have someone issuing paychecks!! Is there some way you could temporarily borrow a bit from your church? Explain the situation?
  15. I watch local news and usually the world news each day....enough to be kept informed about what's going on. I also watch a little of NHK, the Japanese station....they have good coverage of Asia and Europe, some U.S. news, too. Once I mentioned something important to a neighbor....it was about the boys trapped in the cave in Thailand. They were already trapped a long time and people around the world were all desperately trying to rescue them. My neighbor looked at me blankly.... didn't have a clue as to what I was talking about. Now she is Hispanic but even the Spanish stations here covered that story. Sometimes something might happen in the neighborhood that you need to know about, too, for your safety....so it's good to watch some news, I think.
  16. If Jesus is your Lord and Savior....that is, you have accepted Christ's atoning sacrifice for your sins so you are forgiven through Him....then you are a Christian. It would be nice if you could find a good church for hearing God's word and for fellowship, but attending doesn't make anyone a Christian. Some others might have specific answers for you. Here is a good site with hundreds of answers about the Bible that you might find interesting... https://www.gotquestions.org/Amalekites.html
  17. I agree that you can forgive but move on to a different church if you are so led. If you start to feel badly about what happened there, just pray for them. This will help you to heal more.
  18. Delhi....Pastors, evangelists and other workers in remote, lonely outposts will gather for a native ministry's annual convention that will also serve as it's 50th anniversary celebration on Oct. 17-20. Many well known senior servants of the Lord from India and abroad are among the 400 people expected to attend. Info from Christian Aid Mission.
  19. Gordon, sorry I have to agree. I wonder if it is possible for you to divide a long post up? Would be easier for us older ones to read anyhow.
  20. And then there's these five stories....the Cobra fought back and escaped back down the toilet! https://www.menshealth.com/trending-news/a19546234/snakes-swimming-in-toilets-and-biting-mans-penis/
  21. That's it.... that's the one that tried to get into the lady's home. I think there is a YouTube video on it....he was there for quite a while. I agree!! Too much seriousness isn't good. That's why I try to sometimes post funny or odd stuff. I have alot of funny stuff in the Wierd and Wacky News section...check it out. Here's one... https://www.worthychristianforums.com/topic/236657-florida-man-bitten-by-python-in-toilet/?tab=comments#comment-2979152
  22. And what about this one? And the Rattlesnake had 23 friends! https://www.cnn.com/2017/02/02/us/boy-toilet-snake-trnd/index.html
  23. I've heard of this happening before....snakes coming through the toilets into apartments/homes! Yikes! https://www.fox35orlando.com/amp/news/mobile-app-news-feed/florida-man-bitten-by-python-hiding-in-toilet
  24. I also like a simple faith and walk in Jesus. I know some are gifted in explaining many complicated Scriptures but for me, I keep things more simple.
  25. Yes, that was interesting. When I was a child we walked along the railroad tracks in PA on our way to go fishing. My parents taught me this song and we would sing it as we walked the tracks.... The rich man rides the taxi, the poor man rides the train. The hobo walks the railroad tracks but he gets there just the same.
