  1. Thank you, a good message for us all. No matter, we just gotta be different from the "world", perfect? no but surely people should recognize us as one of His.
  2. As Christians we need to let the Lord work through us, as good works done by our own effort are nothing. When the Lord looks at us He looks at the person we have become in Him, His new creation.
  3. Well, if someone insists on doing things of the devil, well it's his/her own fault if they find themselves under his power. Hello?!
  4. Praying for you. Your situation is a very hard one, and I am so sorry this is happening to you. Jesus knows how it feels to be rejected by the ones that are supposed to love you. I pray that you will hold onto Jesus. Jesus wants us to make Him our all in all. I have felt like you do, but never lose your faith in the Lord, He is there. He will make a way.
  5. Days of Elijah (worship songs of Robin Mark)
  6. When we see someone sin we have to be careful, for if we look at someone who sins with contempt in our heart we shouldn't be surprised if we find ourselves committing the same sin. (been there did that) When we see someone sin we should have compassion because that sin may lead them to ruin. Pray for them. Hate the sin? yes, hate the sinner? of course not. Not that it is always easy to do so, some people are so perplexing. There is another problem, sometimes we see people doing things that we feel are wrong, but we do not know the person's motives. (I am not talking about obvious sins, like cursing, lying etc.) The Lord looks at a person's heart. 1Samuel 16:7 But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for [the LORD seeth] not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart. 2 Corinthians 10:7 Do ye look on things after the outward appearance? If any man trust to himself that he is Christ's, let him of himself think this again, that, as he is Christ's, even so are we Christ's.
  7. I was totally surprised the first time I heard someone mention contradictions in the Bible. All my life I have believed the Bible to be God's Word. When I came across a so called contradiction it didn't bother me. One was explained to me in which I did not really worry about anyway ..... for example "answer a fool according to his folly" says one verse, the other verse says "do not answer a fool according to his folly" (Pro 26:4 Answer not a fool according to his folly, lest thou also be like unto him. Pro 26:5 Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own conceit. ) "What?!?" u say???? Well, sometimes you have to answer a fool, and sometimes you don't (may God give us the discernment) What if I told someone, "I have 3 loonies!" I open my wallet and there are 5 loonies. (Canadian dollar coins) Would the person call me a liar? maybe, but I am not a liar, I do have 3 loonies, I also have 5 loonies, and for all he or she knows I may have more at home, but I still have 3 loonies. (by the way I never said I only have 3 loonies) So when one Gospel writer says at one point there were 2 angels there, and the other Gospel writer says there was 1 angel there, they are both right. There was 1 angel there, so what if he did not mention the other one, he was focusing on the 1. And they do not say, there was only 1 angel there right? Oh well, who cares? although I do find answers to contradictions facinating, and sometimes needful to know if one is teaching little ones.......
  8. Thank you Lord for the cross. The cross reminds us of how He died in our place.
  9. Thank you for recommending this book There are doctors who have been operating on patients, the patient's heart stops. The doctors work hard to get the heart going again. The patient is back, the patient screams something like don't let me go back there. I have heard of doctors who have had patients who have experienced death on the table and DO NOT believe the patient has hallucinated, but rather they now have a belief in hell and do not want to go there themselves. They also have had had patients who have experienced heaven. Because they have seen this some doctors turn to Jesus because they want to go to heaven when they die. Those who want to call these out of body experiences, or deaths as hallucinations just want to try and prove there is no heaven or hell or God even. It never ceases to surprise me that many athiests that face a death situation, their plane is going down or such, all of a sudden call on God. Everyone in their heart knows there is a God, but not all will admit it.
  10. @ ladypeartree, you have some really good points. (others have good points too, but my memory is not as good as it used to be and I don't have time to read all the posts again) I just thought of something, think of the Alzheimer patient who wishes he could remember, but forgets. He wishes for a drug that will give back his memory, or the person with amnesia. Oh my!
  11. How sad. I heard about that once and I was shocked! I thot we were a politcally correct society, not tolerating racism behaviour. How not true. May the Lord help all who have missing children, family members.
  12. Yes, as Joseph in the Old Testament to his brothers. "You meant it for evil but God meant if for good." God can use the evil people cause us in our lives and make something good of it. Someone already mentioned Romans 8:28 reminding us that God can work all things out for good... I pray the Lord will continue to bless you as you go through this hard time. It is amazing to know when there is adversity in our lives it can bring us closer to Jesus, our Lord and Saviour. God is good.
  13. It would be great if everyone could go to Jesus and get healing for their bad memories.
  14. Yes, the Lord was definitely protecting you. The Lord also times things, we think it is our timing, but it is His. Praise the Lord.
