Everyone I know says they're Christian; most of them haven't a clue. It's a longing to fellowship with other believers that most of us feel, I'm sure. I do a lot of prayer request posting too, because I'm always finding things and people to pray for and about. I try very hard to stay away from the controversial stuff--politics, religion, etc.---simply because I'm not knowledgable enough to fight back to hold my position. I just come off with something like "let's agree to disagree then" or something along those lines. And congrats to me for my 1000th post.... a. I do it because you can have a more meaningful discussion about important issues in the forums than you can in chat. The need for meaningful conversation? Education? Outreach? A void in your life that this fulfills? etc... For me, it's all of the above and much more. This is a way to serve the Lord and have Christian Fellowship. This is also a wonderful way to share the Good News and the Gospel of the Grace of God with people around the world. We should also remember that many people are ill or otherwise shut-ins, and this may be their door to the outside world.
