While Abraham Lincoln has always been my favorite President there are some things about his role in the civil war that have been mischaracterized. It has been taught that the civil war was started over slavery but this is not so. President Lincoln's "Emancipation Proclamation" wasn't issued until two years after the attack on Fort Sumter. Interestingly enough the Emancipation proclamation only freed slaves in certain states and counties. Ironically these were the states and counties that raised cotton.

Simply very nice, maybe Lincoln is one of the few that will wear two crowns on this earth and the one to come. Lincoln was always fascinating to me because he dis covered modernd day speach. During the "Gettysburgh Addresss" (speaches at that time were two hours or longer) people were just getting to to their seats to see the speach end. However in summation the question you pose is valid for the christian as well as the non-christian, we can say we're christian's but lead unprincipled lives and visa versa. There was a time at Lincoln life when he was going to give up the the cause of slavery, he suffered greatly and was a good man. However what is truly in our hert's is only known to God and He will be the final Judge though I have a feeling, Lincoln served God with integrity and principle. Amen
