A person's opinion is never wrong or false, it is there opinion. Everything I wrote is my opinion. My unlearned, ignorant opinion.

While none of this really matters, people are saved by the HOLY SPIRIT with or without a Bible. So, whichever Bible HE uses to enhance or enlighten a saved person, is fine by me. HE can do as HE wishes.

Not wanting to split hairs with you kross, Im sure I know what you meant by this statement. I just want it to be brought to your attention that we have many "guests" who read these posts. Some guests may be saved, some maybe not. Some may be looking for answers to their questions. We should be very careful how we word our posts though.

It is Jesus who has saved us. Through His sacrifice. Once He ascended into Heaven, God sent us His Spirit to lead us, guide us, teach us, and yes...call us. The Holy Spirit is our seal, our proof to us that God dwells in us and with us and has not left us.

God Bless ya!!

Since JESUS and THE HOLY SPIRIT are one and the same..., and for the edification of those who may not be saved;

While JESUS has made the way, it is the work of HIS SPIRIT to convict, woo, and impart faith by grace. It is the work on the cross that has made the way of salvation. It is the HOLY SPIRIT that saves.

Not to try to glue that hair back together.

I haven't read all responses to this thread yet (14 pages is a bit too much), but I read the first three and last three pages to get an idea on the discussion. In general, I find no single translation to be sufficient. I hardly ever use the KJV, for two reasons: 1- it is translated into a language that is 400 years out of date (the English we use today is far different than that all those years ago), and 2- the original text it was translated off is not considered to be as reliable as the other major version of the Bible (the Textus Receptus versus the Novum Testamentum Graece). I really only use the KJV because that is what my concordance and dictionary references.

I use quite a few versions in my studies, and also consistently refer to the original Greek and Hebrew and Aramaic to compare texts. I am not a language scholar, but the dictionaries I have available have been more than helpful enough. In the absence of the ability to spend five years studying languages, this is the best option.

No single translation is the authoritative and infallible version of God's word - only the original language texts can make that claim. That is why I use many versions and compare, as well as look beyond those and into the dictionaries of the original language to get a better idea. In the end, most translations provide an acceptable version - only minor differences separate them (though the different choices of the Textus Receptus and the Novum Testament Graece does mean that certain verses are not existent in some copies).

Personally, I use the ESV and NASB mostly, with occasional use of the NIV. But when we get right down to it, most Bible's could be used for the same purpose.

Just my observations on the question :) I certainly would agree that the KJV is not the only authorised version, and would in fact stringently argue against such a fact.

I speak Pig Latin :) That said, no Bible will be effective if we don't pick it up and read it - daily. I like KJV - I grew up with it and my original Bible is 40 years old and looks dreadful - it's heavily highlighted and notes written in it from sermons and comments from teachers, etc. I received a NIV a few years ago and was resistant to it at first - but I like it. It's easily understood and my husband really enjoys it, too. I do like the Olde English of KJV - but it has some translation issues and I always use a couple of different Bibles if I'm deep in study and use online sites and concordances and dictionaries, also. The fact of the matter is - it's whatever you are comfortable with and that it's being read and thought about. Blessings!!

The KJV is NOT the only acceptable translation of the Bible and to say that it is creates a stumbling block to for seekers and new believers in my opinion. I like the KJV, but I would never say that is the only right version to read and learn from. Personally, I like the NASB and ESV because they are clear translations and also more accurate in my opinion when compared to some of the other newer or modern translations. Just my thoughts :)

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
