I've noticed a difference if I sneeze such that the I allow some of the force of air to go out my mouth, verses when I close my mouth and the full force goes out through my nose.

Wonder if something like that has to do with loud vs quiet sneezers?

Yeah, my grandfather had one of those unique sneezes.......when he sneezed it was sudden and so loud that it made everyone jump.

Anonymous, I could have written your post. Yes, it is annoying. Yes, I think they can help it. One of those 'life's little annoyances' that we put up with - like they put up with ours, right? LOL

I work with a young girl who has one of those femine high pitched 'choo, choo, choo' deals too, that somone mentioned. Annoying.

I guess I just find bodily functions annoying, LOL. I stifle mine.

My husband has a fairly loud sneeze but the worst of it is he never sneezes less than 5 times and often more. I think he has gone up to 20 times! Especially when they are ginning the cotton. He must be allergic since his eyes start watering too. He can't help it and I agree with those who say 'let it rip'. Better than hurting your ear drums or whatever.
