Descent into Marxism? Who cares? The proletariat is exploited by the bourgeoisie; the implementation of any given economic political theory is entirely irrelevant to the reality of class division.

Marxism is a complete revocation of all private property rights and a complete centralization of the banking system. No Private Enterprise, No Private banking. When Wall Street ceases to exist, and all banks and businesses are completely owned by the government, and all pay to everyone is completely equal, that is Marxism. This is nowhere NEAR that.

I guess you're not an American. Well, we care, for starters. What gives you the idea that we don't know what we're talking about? And from what blog did you cut and paste your elitist, pseudo European spiel?

Hmmmm....Well China is called "The People's Party of China," is Communist, and has increasingly growing private industries.

There is no such thing as strict Marxism or Communism in the world today, but there are degrees of both. As of today the government owns what was once the largest producer of American automobiles; and it owns, by fiat, many of the large banks. This is a first in American history. What would you call such actions? Think that once our economy "rebounds" like they all hope it will that the gov't is going to suddenly reliquish its control over those private industries it's swallowed up? Call all the former board members and stock holders and say, "Here ya' go. Y'all can have your jobs and stocks back now?"

Which is inevitable in any socio-economic paradigm. What is at issue is how much government controls. Show me one single case in which Marxist philosophy has worked for the benefit of all equally.
