ummm I live in Africa (have all my life actually), and I do outreach work from South Africa into places like Mozambique . I know the people, and I know the church. I deal with witchcraft every day in one way or the other, sometimes just in peoples attitudes and superstitions (don't get me started), and sometimes on a more serious note.

Please listen! The church in Africa is stronger than you all might think. There are millions of God faring saved christians who have nothing but God to rely on (Is that not a wonderful place to be?), some who walk to church for 4 hours, attend a 4-5 hour service and walk back! (don't think I could sit still for that long, even with the worship). Their simple, childlike, but unshakable faith astounds and shames me every time I meet with them.

What this post is directed at IS DEFINITLY NOT THE CHURCH! What I mean is that the satan driven, mamon worshiping, murdering thieves that start up a "thing" and call it a "church" are going to burn in eternal hell unless they see the light and repent big time!

I have testimonies that my brother and I can give of the church (especially the one we support and teach at in Mozambique as this is first hand knowledge), standing against these black magic, tribal ancestor worshiping, animal sacrificing, satan driven "bush doctors", isisangoma, ("doctors" who "heal" or grant favours through magic by calling on tribal ancestors) and the like. And yes, the myth that sex with a virgin cures Aids is true, so is the myth that a certain witch doctor in Durban, South Africa, has convinced poor lost souls that a piece of red cotton with magical powers, tied around the wrist of an Aids sufferer will cure them (the cotton costs about $50). She drives a huge black Mercedes Benz.

When my brother or I teach in the church at Zavora we have had people barking like dogs, uncontrolled laughter (not of the happy sort), screaming fits, etc. The Lord is at work in Africa, and there is a revival happening in many places, but:-

I condemn with all my heart the people such as witches and "prophets" that the post mentions, and beleive that this sort of thing should be dragged out of the darkness into the light, so that all can see, and be destroyed in the name of Jesus.

Please do not judge the millions of wonderful, saved, christian people of Africa, the one's that I know and love, alongside the evil and the lost. I would hate to see this post go in that direction. Pray instead for the Lord's intervention, pray for those who go into the nations, pray for the pastors in the remote villages that fight against this evil 24/7, who live in grass huts, and farm a patch of bare earth so they can feed themselves and their families while they fight.

Pray for my brother and me, who are building a house in Mozambique (site has been leveled, poles purchased, government red tape completed - Google Earth - Zavora Mozambique), in amongst these people that we love so much. Pray for God's devine hand on our finances and our safety. Pray that we are doing this not out of our will but His. Because it is our prayer that He allows us to live in the centre of this community, Christians and witches alike. These wonderful people gave us 4 acres of land and 2 goats so that we would one day live amongst them. We love them.

I'm sure these atrocities do not represent the legitimate Christian churches of Africa. The point of the post is that these things are happening and these awful evil people are preying on the superstitions of those people who are not Christians and those children are suffering. Children being killed as suspected witches and babies and young girls being raped as a "cure for HIV".... this has to stop. It's just horrible.

you can thank god he did this in jan 2008 south thank you god has given me a lov for your people especialy the young kids and the poor that i had gotten to know i have been to bacolod cebu and la castelana and all around ormoc i hav a friend who lives in mindano he is a youth pastor god broke me in 2008 south and i have not been the same what i saw him do in your country has never left me

It is very common and there is a whole industry evolving around it.There are people doing it full time and do claim that the speak directly to God.They are effective for very short periods and are expensive as well.

Damo you can build churches in many ways in places like phillipines ; you can rent a house in the village as they are very cheap or you can rent the land and build.The rent is paid up-front for a house it is minimum 2/3 years and for land 5/20 years.Make sure there is a road of some sort.In extreme cases rented land and a bamboo church has been done,it can last for 2 years.It is a good proven way untill you have built a congregation.

my fiance worked since she was 20yrs old she sent what ever she earnt to her mother it cost her $8,000 to build her family home a bit better then what they use to live in the origonal home is standing and its used the chickens sleep and lay ther eggs in what they use to call home her parents raised 8 kids in their old home they called home filapino homes are made from either tin sheets picked up at the tip or bamboo also they have normal homes as wel but a bit expensive and they have appartments as well and again very expensive i like her family home basic family home with a dirt floor not tiled or concreet or carpet

so i sort of know what i am in for when we do pick our own land filapino people are not fussed in how they live

my fiances farm is a 2 kil walk from the highway in sabang

and i helped my x fiance who is a filapino pastor they have a bamboo church made out of bamboo

they know need to put the two doors up and the church wil be finished

i wil be building our church out of besa blocks they ate cheap to buy and land is very cheap in the philippines especialy in ormoc

so thanks george but i already checked this out when i was with my fiane for two months we shower from a bucket not a shower or bath tub and my fiance washes her clothes by hand not by ussing a washing machine

very simple way off living and i already miss the philippines and my new family
