This is sweet....indeed.

One of my mentors is a very dear friend I made friends with over 2 years ago online. We are now in touch all the time, talk on the phone, etc. Her name is Donna, but not any of the Donnas from here just to be clear. :) All the Donnas here are wonderful however! She is 10 years my senior and that lady has been through the dirt and back in just about everything life can throw at a person, yet she NEVER, EVER stumbles or waivers in her love, servitude, and devotion to Jesus. She just amazes me...all the time.

I have a mentor here, too, that I've known for about 3+ months. He is wise, he is very faithful, he is kind, he is gentle, he is a pillar of strength, and he too never waivers in his love and devotion and servitude to Jesus, and last but not least...and this is important..he shows no favoritism whatsoever to me or anyone else. I look up to him and I admire him and he is like my own flesh and blood brother. Thank you, Bob Triez, for being such a mentor to me. I strive daily to be the faithful servant to Jesus that you always are.

We are kinda new in our current church so I don't have one there...yet. :)

Love through our Jesus,

Ref

I can't imagine being a Christian and not having a mentor. Had one from day one, the day I was baptized 14 years ago.

No one can do it alone. :) Although I realize, millions of people out there do try.

Patsy (the pastor's wife/teacher/friend) is my mentor. She is such a godly women, and she always teaches me things whether I ask or not    She pounds >erses into my head. she encourages me. She tells me how beautiful I am in the Lord. Which is a big issue for me. For so long I hated myself and she's taught/teaching me that I am a pearl of great price, I am beautiful and the Lord lo>es me so much. She's taught me about prayer, and also about spiritual warfare. This woman has taught me so much about God, so much about myself.

Kent. I'>e known him for sooooo long. he is such an awesome man. He has such a heart for God, and to reach His children. He is such an instrument. and he is an e+ample of what it means to be humble. I see God breaking Him, and molding him unto His likeness, and it is such an awesome thing.

You ladies here on worthy boards. So many of you have helped me through such a rough time in my life. Gymrose, Traveller, Nebula, BPC, mary, shelby,Donna, sharon I mean you ladies have taught me how to heal, and how to run to Jesus when I wanted to hide. How to really be open and honest with people. You ladies are an inspiration to me. so awesome and blessed am I to be associated with you. (not all ladies were mentioned)

My newest mentor. Is my baby, my Papa Bear. Andrew has been a source of joy, of friendship, of love, of kindess, of correction, of strength, of everything I've needed lately. He knows verses and isn't afraid to tell me I am wrong, or to show me verses to help. he prays for me, and I for him. I look forward to when we can pray together in person. He is so completely awesome.

I praise God for the people he's placed in my life. I dunno what I'd have done without all of them.

Praise you Jesus, bless these people, let them know what a blessing they've been. You oh Lord are so magnificent and I thank you beyond words for those you've placed in my life.

my mentor for the past couple of years has been this girl who is a year older than me, sarah. she recently moved to go to grad school, but she'll always hold a very special place in my life. she taught me a lot.

when i go back to school this fall, i think i'm going to start meeting with another friend of mine, leanne, who's now the intern for my christian fellowship. i'm excited about meeting with her because i really admire her faith and wisdom.

for a while now, i've really wanted an older lady to disciple me. however, i'm always pretty intimidated around older people because of the way i was raised. hopefully God will bring someone in my life that i can relate to and open up to.

A gentleman name Frank Hooper was my mentor. He was a missionary in Ceiba, Puerto Rico when I was stationed there with the U.S. Navy from August 1978 to February 1981. He, his wife (Eloise) and their two daughters and son-inlaws ran a Serviceman's Center there outside the base (U.S. Naval Station Roosevelt Roads).

I spent 3 years under his guidance and teachings in the Word. He had a tremendous impact on my spiritual growth/learning. Other than my family, he is the first person I would like to see (after the LORD JESUS CHRIST) when I arrive in Heaven. I want to thank him SO VERY, VERY MUCH for "cementing my feet" in sound biblical doctrine when I was a "babe in CHRIST" (Matthew 7:24-25).

It is very interesting to see all the different walks of people that are mentors for us. Thank you for your posts. I look forward to more of them.

Pray a special prayer for your mentor today.

Not to take this to a negative side everybody but just a reminder, Mentors are great to have for guidance, but please always research things you are told by ANY other person.

My Brother married my old pastors daughter and then became a deacon at that church and pretty much blindly follows everything this man says and takes all his words as Gospel without ever researching or questioning him.

So as much of a blessing as Mentor's can be, DONOT let yourself become lazy in the word and take others "opinions" as gospel.

God Bless,

Dave

Yeah, I know what you mean. The "pastor" at the church we left, reportedly said that people didn't need to bring their Bibles because he'd tell them what it said. I didnt' hear him say that, but from what I did hear and observe, I believe he felt that way.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
