Earlier there was a post from an atheist that seemed to delight in bashing our beliefs as "a cult that believes in mystical creatures with powers." Apparently it was stricken from the forum and probably rightly so, as it was simply Christian bashing with no apparent message other than..."you Christians are stupid." I have read and replied to several atheist (and agnostic?) people who post on these forums. Most are generally polite, respectful, and a few actually seem to to be open minded about those of us who recognize that there has to be a superior being (creator) to ourselves. I appreciate and welcome those to post. However, to that removed post and others like them...

Thanks for coming on the post to straighten out all us backward ignorant believers. Gee, next you're gonna tell me that Santa Clause, the easter bunny, and unicorns aren't true either! Hang on a minute, I've got to swing a dead cat over my shoulder twelve times and chant to Mazzou the god of the wood nymphs. Wait a minute, how did I write this...obvious I'm a backwards mindless Oaf who can't even write my name...duuuuh!

You have wowed me with your obvious superior intellect and wisdom into all things spiritual. I bow at your feet and worship your massive brain and superior powers of reasoning and intellegence. I'm not worthy to even be on the website with such wise and perfect all-knowing, all seeing, and mighty human demigods.

Seriously, you are welcome to come on this website to discuss the existence of God if you wish...we welcome that. But we must ask that you do so with an open mind and with respect (not necessarily agreement) for our views and beliefs. But. apparently you came on to insult and belittle the beliefs of the followers of Christ. If you have decided that because you can't measure, touch, feel, smell, scientifically test, or prove personally beyond a doubt that God exists, then so be it. If you can look at the complex and awesome existence of the universe, the world we live in, and the life that surrounds us including our own and not see a superior intellegent design at work, then nothing I, as a weak, frail, imperfect, and with far inferior intellegence human being, can say or show you that will change your mind.

Apparently you have some real issue yourself about the existence of God...claiming with condescending disgust anyone who "believes in mystical creatures with powers...snicker, snicker, Thinking all the while just how superior you are to us. Are you really that insecure about the obvious falecy of our beliefs, that you feel the need to come on to a Christian forum website to taunt and tease us about the fact that we don't believe the universe created itself... that we don't believe that we are simply "naked apes" with no more significance than a rat or a cockroach. Or that we don't believe we are just the end of a long line of genetic mutations and that life began by accident from a prehistoric pool of chemicals and a random lightening strike...gee, talk about your fairy tales!

I don't understand your high intellectual motives for becoming a member of this website. Please enlighten us foolish ignorant people...obviously we are much too stupid to understand. Frankly, I don't see the point. :emot-questioned:

Anybody recognize a bit of sarcasm in my post?

I have often wondered why athiests post here. At least I wonder about those who come to mock. If we treat them with love and confront there error we my be able to show them who God is. Christianity is the only truth and our Lord convicts, but is faithful to forgive those who repent. If we show His love to them, the very least we will have done is plant some seeds.

Christianity stands against sin, and even Christians have a hard time giving up earthly ways. So someone who doesn't not know Christ can only mock what they do not understand.

Rebekah, thank you for moving this post. I'm new to this website and I'm not sure how it ended up in the prayer request forum in the first place...I didn't intend on it being there. thanks for moving it to this forum.

Thank you to others that post. I need to watch pulling out the sarcasm card. We need to treat others with love, and I instead resorted to sarcasm. I guess I just get tired of people subtracting 50 points off my IQ when I mention I believe in God. Please forgive my venting session earlier. I really do wonder why they feel the need to mock us. Thanks for all the insights and scripture...it helps.

Atheists are driven to rail at Christians and, usually, they don't know what is driving them. They go on endlessly, feverishly trying to prove we descended from apes. (That would make us just another animal, not created by God, and move them closer to proving He doesn't exist.) They never seem to convince anyone of anything and, yet, they go on and on and on.. I've asked more than one why, if they are happy atheists, do they hang around Christian sites trying to convince and convert believers? And that IS what they're doing; even if they won't admit it. I've never gotten a coherent reply.

blessings OnetrueGod,

your entirely welcome. iv'e been know to make a few mistakes here as well  .

you know when we respond to atheist i think the first thing we need to do is pray for them. (Christ came to seek the lost such as we were before He opened our eyes) and then pray about what to post and not let what they say harm our witness to others by replying out of emotion instead of Spirit led motives, only God can draw them but the Lord can certainly use our witness to plant seeds for them or others.

paul rallied against God so much he helped to kill Christians and yet the Lord opened his hard heart. can we really discern who the Lord has given up on? please understand i am not saying to let what they say go unchallenged at all. but rather to make sure the truth is heard with grace so when others read it they do not see just a name calling war from both sides. just mho

There have been athiests post here in thepast and members here had many long discussions with them. A couple that I remember ended up professing Chirst and it seemed at the time became saved through the discussions here.

I say that to say that sometimes some of them are drawn here and I personally think it is by God himself.

We should always be kind and gentle with them for we never know how much the Holy Spirit will use our posts to touch thier hearts.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
