Order of the Eastern Star

I have several families members who are high in OES. Does anyone know much about it? My family member has been to many ceremonies, and invited us, but we had to wait outside. It was all very secretive and now takes up a lot of their time.

Is there something more to this than just fundraising?

Andy, I know nothing about them, and the link is one persons opinion, but it makes disturbing reading never the less. I think maybe you should do a bit of reaearch before coming to your own conclusion. Jesus will guide you.

The Order of the Eastern Star is a friendship organization open to all religions bent on exhibiting good neighborliness & moral values. The missing component, of course, is the divine imperative of the new birth of God wrought by the Blessed Holy Spirit according to John Chapter 3, verse 1-7. Before one can participate in true, eternal brotherhood based on the agape love of the Creator-God in heaven, one must be truly born again.

The OES welcomes all religions as though all religions lead to Jesus Christ. This, of course, is drastically erroneous. It's what Satan would love for you to believe. Islam doesn't lead to the one true God, Jehovah. Buddhism doesn't. It teaches "reincarnation" rather than resurrection. Hinduism offers millions of gods. All of man's religions emphasize your own good works as the key to heaven. Ephesians 2:8,9 decries man's efforts for salvation.

Jesus exclaimed, "I am the Way, the Truth & the Life" in John 14:6. One would do much better, to be sure, if one were to forego the Order of the Eastern Star and concentrate all of one's precious time on the One Who is the Bright & Morning Star, Jesus Christ the Righteous One.

I had an aunt who belonged to the Eastern Star and she did not like Christianity one bit. The services she attended were more "spiritual" in nature, almost like a cross between Wicca and New Age. Because of this, I stayed far away from her beliefs and know very little about the OES. I can only say that the witness of her spirit was not a good one.

i know very little about the oes, but what i do know is that it's the female version of free mansonary. it is not a good thing as others have replied here. the Children of God should have nothing to do with either of these groups. the both teach false doctrines. my hubby knows more about this than i do.

All I've heard about that is that it is part of the Free Masons - Like the female chapter.

Anything that is secrative automatically sets off warning signals to me. Isn't that the same for the Muslims?

Jesus wants us to spread His word - that makes sense to me.

Word to live by - if you would be ashamed for your Mommy to know what you are up to, maybe you shouldn't be doing it!!!

Sorry, but that is all I know about it. It's part of the Free Masons - I'd start praying for them asap!!!
