When Paul uses nature as an example its difficult see how the cultural arguement stacks up.

I used to think that head coverings and the whole submissive wife thing strange and dead, but now seeing the amount of women in church showing cleavage to point of embarrassment, i think the fruit of women pastors is proving wrong.

Also men are not made to respond to the pitch of the female voice when being instructive, this is why so many women complain their husband doesnt listen. If they used their sexy voice as in dating they would get his attention and results quicker by far.

The bible is clear women are not to be leaders/teachers/pastors of men, but it also says they (the older women) are to teach the younger.

Let me know your take on this:

1 Corinthians 14:34-35:

Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husband at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church.

If this is the truth, why are women allowed as pastors?

for the same reason certain faiths allow openly gay pastors they do not follow scripture which means they never knew the true god theyre worship was a lie i hope that helps

I agree with you, as always.

I don't know so much, we have women give lessons in church from time to time, and when some of them talk, you know it is spirit driven, and I LISTEN! It is either from the spirit or it is not, and one very quickly discerns that during a lesson, it does not matter if it is from a male or a female.

If this is the truth, why are women allowed as pastors?

why even allow them to be sunday school teachers, or nursery workers or allow them to be in the choir, or even let them be greeters or speak at all??

with this type of thinking, they should not even speak at all.... this would also mean they are not allowed to hold public office, or vote for those seeking public office, or teach grade school, middle school or high school or even college...... how many women have you sat under for learning????? being there are almost no men teaching grade school or even middle school now days, mostly women, how many??? same principle stands.....

you see in Timothy that Paul is saying to Timothy that he should not learn from a woman (mostly because women of the time were not the educated ones, it was the men that were educated....so how could a person learn from some one that has not been taught?

the same person that wrote this was also ministered to by Phoebe and Priscilla and listened to them....

we have to look at what was going on in the Church at Corinth, there was no order, and Paul was letting them know they needed order, not confusion. it was ( I believe ) a church where anything and everything went and the leader had basically lost control over (what we call) the service.

we also know that men and women usually did intermingle during social gatherings as was the custom... even up into the 1900's in some Jewish communities the men and women were separated during public events....

can you imagine what it might have been like to have the women on one side of the room, or around the wall of the room trying to find out what the person speaking was trying to convey to the audience? the men would either be seated in the center and the women around the perimeter or men on one side and women on the other......

I really do not believe that the women were trying to be disrespectful, I believe they were HUNGRY AND WANTED TO KNOW WHAT EVERYTHING MEANT....

It was not only the women being disruptive, but it appears to be others as well,

that is why (I believe) Paul told them that let one or two prophecy, and let one or two give a word, and let one or two....... so forth and so on, then... move on with the service..... he was giving a method for carrying on with the service rather then denouncing women (per sea)....

you can also read where it says............ AS THE LAW ALSO SAYS ...........

which law? who's law?

in the United States, we do not have such a law..... IN FACT, we are not allowed, by the law, to discriminate for a job because of race, creed, colour, gender, religious background, so forth and so on..... The Law says women can speak, women can vote, women can hold office..... as the law also says.....

if a group chooses not to allow a certain person to hold a certain office, that is their belief and should not start condemning others for doing what is lawful....

I learned a while ago that men were the only ones who were taught scripture and they taught the rest of the family. Because of this, the women would be asking questions of the men during the meetings in church. Since they sat in a different area, they had to ask with a loud voice so their husbands could hear them, interrupting the services. For this reason, Paul told them to be quiet and ask their husbands at home.

At the same time, men were considered the head of the household. This is the reason why women could not be a leader over men.

So, take a look at the families of today and compare them to the families back then, and ask yourself which had more honor and which worked better for all the family? Also, take a look at the church today and the church back then and ask which is working more in His will? Look where man has brought us ...

It is men who have allowed both to diminish by walking out of Gods word and into the PC world. There is no argument that can change history or the facts. Our families have never been so sad and our churches have never been out of His will so far. One can definitely try and justify our positions and rationalize why we are as we are, but the truth will remain the truth and a lie a lie, no matter how pretty it is painted.

they aren't allowed. however, if you believe in end-times, people accept the lie as truth.

When Paul wrote this there was a situation going on and the wives wanted to get answers to their questions. Bible scholars have documented the fact that bizarre Gnostic heresies were circulating throughout the region at that time and these false teaching posed a serious threat to the infant Christian churches that were starting. Certain cultic worship practices involving female priestesses of the Greek fertility goddess, Diana, had invaded the church of that day. Also take into account that in the Greek and Middle Eastern culture during the first century, women did not have educational opportunities, and in fact it was considered disgraceful for them to learn. What Paul wanted was for the learned to speak. Women needed to learn from their husbands. Not blurt out questions during the time in the tabernacle.

I would like to know what scriptures you are using that make the bible "clear" about women teaching men.

With this reasoning, would it be fair to say that in "today's world" it is okay to be gay as well? Is it okay for people to murder because these are different times?

I dont' understand how Christians think they can pick-n-choose which scriptures they want to go by and which "don't apply" anymore. If we had this same attitude regarding all of the scriptures, imagine how chaotic Christianity would be? If we promote people to pick-n-choose, what does that say about the future of Christianity?

To me, with this reasoning, or shall I say unreasoning, the entire Bible is moot.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
