When I encounter an unmarried pregnant woman, I thank God that the woman chose LIFE rather than opting for an abortion.

All this means is that the woman chose not to compound one sin with another sin. The sin of sex outside of marriage remains. However, I think 99% of the population are aware that Christians believe that sex outside of marriage is sinful and they don't need to have that rubbed in their face. I don't think we should pretend that it isn't a sin. It is. But I think we can celebrate the new life, and support the woman, in a happy and excited way, without condoning the sin.

I know that a lot of Christians have been guilty of this very sin, except we were not unfortunate enough to have the consequences of our sin revealed to all, which is what happens when people fall pregnant.

Thank God for grace!

I'm living that situation right now. My roommate thinks she's pregnant--if she is, she's 6 months along--but...she might not be. She has two indicators that show she might not be, but she's convinced she is. I can't convince her to go to a doctor, because she has no insurance. I had warned her ahead of time that she would be playing with fire, but obviously she wouldn't listen to me. Now she's facing a life just like her mother had.

I think of how Jesus would react. If it was a friend of His, I'm certain He would comment on a healthy and safe pregnancy - that's what I would do.

Remember, God looks at man's heart - He knows that you don't approve of the living arrangements and how the conception came about but are happy about the coming of new life....the conception has happened, you can't stop that part.

:(

I do congratulate unmarried pregnant women because (for whatever reason) it is GOD who allowed that conception.

The daughter of a friend became pregnant before marriage.

My friend was excited about being a Grandmother but felt she

couldn't express that excitement because her daughter wasn't married.

What a shame that Christians would feel this way.

The sin of sex before marriage is a forgivable sin.

No, we do not condone the sin, but we certainly can't blame the baby.

Does being unmarried and pregnant mean you can't enjoy the baby because it is "illegitimate"?

NO WAY! ENJOY! It ain't the baby's fault.

Good points andy! :laugh::huh:

No, we don't condone the sin or condemn the sinner.

These sins are sins that CAN be forgiven.

I say... be excited about the baby, but not about the circumstances of it's conception. I am facing this exact issue at the moment.

I agree Andy,

when I was 22 years old, I found myself in that situation. I had no idea what to do, but God had it all figured out. I went through the pregnancy, and when my son was born, God chose the perfect couple to adopt him. It was the most difficult thing I have ever done in my life, but also the thing I am most proud of. God took my shame, and made it into a miracle.

So i say yes, congratulate her. God can use anyone, and any situation for His good purpose. I am living proof.

I think circumstances have a lot to do with it. Some premarital situations lead to marriage, and in those cases marriage is to be encouraged. When there is stability and love, I would congratulate and then promote the deeper commitment of marriage.

Other situations are tougher. I might offer congratulations, but not so enthusiastically, and then use it as a touchpoint to talk about getting relationships right (or breaking them off), and affirming the value of all human life in God's eyes.

Basically, in each situation I would try to engage the person where he/she is at and then try to promote a better position, if there is one.

Where there had been no physical hope for having children - a miracle happened - In our case - we rejoiced and still do - daily. I thank God each day for allowing us the privilege and blessing of a little child in our lives. When I hold this sweet little angel and she sings "Jesus Loves Me" in that clear sweet little voice, I know God is speaking to me. This blessing of humanity brought a family that was fragmented and so far apart on many levels- together in joy and His Love. We are ALL raising this baby - Her Mamma, her Uncle Bub, grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins... we may not agree on many things - but we all agree that a miracle happened in our lives and we ALL thank God for His Grace and Mercy.

I always greet pregnant women with a smile and offer blessings that they are going to experience a miracle of God - I never query them on their marital status. I choose to rejoice in the fact that God offers the world yet another miracle. Blessings.

Christians who are living together and/or having children out of wedlock are being deceived by Satan and failed by their church. They are not being taught the truth that although they are forgiven of their sin and will still be saved, they will enter heaven as through fire. They believe that they can do anything they want without any spiritual consequences.

1 Corinthians 3:14-16 (New King James Version)

14 If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. 16 Do you not know that you are the temple of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
