Swine Flu Has Peaked

(NaturalNews) Swine flu infections have peaked out in the USA, even before drug companies could get their vaccines injected into everyone. According to CDC findings announced recently in Atlanta, one in five U.S. children have already experienced the flu this month, and most of those were likely H1N1 swine flu cases, the CDC says.

This comes from a survey of over 10,000 U.S. households conducted by the CDC.

Meanwhile, flu vaccine shipments are way behind schedule. There have been supply problems from the start, and as of right now, relatively few Americans have yet been injected with the swine flu vaccine. (Many have stood in line for hours trying to be injected, but were told to go home with the vaccine ran out.)

Out of nearly 14,000 suspected flu cases tested during the week ending on October 10, 2009, 99.6% of those were influenza A, and the vast majority of those were H1N1 swine flu infections. Further supporting that notion, researchers from Purdue University just published a paper in the October 15 issue of Eurosurveillance (a science journal about communicable disease) in which researchers stated that the H1N1 swine flu epidemic would peak during "week 42" (the end of October). Week 42 just passed. It's over.

The AJC is also reporting this week that swine flu is "retreating" in Georgia, where hospital visits from the flu are markedly down (http://www.ajc.com/health/swine-flu...) and fewer illnesses are being reported in schools, too.

Even the WHO is reporting a downward trend in many areas, saying, "In tropical areas of the world, rates of illness are generally declining, with a few exceptions. ...In tropical Asia, of the countries that are reporting this week, all report decreases in respiratory disease activity." Meanwhile, even as the swine flu infection peaks out, the shortage of swine flu vaccines means few people have yet been vaccinated. The shortage is causing "chaos" in clinics across the country, news reports say, and flu vaccination events have been cancelled due to the non-arrival of expected vaccines.

And what, exactly, is causing this shortage of vaccines? According to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, they're being caused by "production failures" at the drug manufacturing facilities.

Is she serious? People are lining up to be injected with chemicals made by companies that are suffering "production failures?" If these companies can't meet the production targets they already promised, how can we expect them to meet the safety targets they promised?

The bigger point, though, is that by the time vaccines are available for everyone, most people will have already been exposed to the H1N1 virus and therefore won't even need a vaccine. There's also evidence that previous exposure to seasonal flu may confer some natural immunity to H1N1, meaning that vaccines may be redundant from the start (http://www.naturalnews.com/027337_H...).

I think it's all relative, really...people are so afraid right now that they are going straight to the doctors for any sign of illness...so yes doctors visits would definitely be increased this year. And flu season has peaked in October this year, instead of Nov/Dec. It has happened before...but it would be higher than what is expected for this time of year. I've been finding you really need to know your stuff when reading through all the scare tactics with this flu...the manipulation is huge!

Yeah, Axxman - as a first responder, we got the seasonal flu vaccine rather early, also hepatitis series and the H1N1 recently. The chief of our health department sent out a mass email yesterday that the flu was just getting in the upswing here. We have a couple of school districts closed - one due to a child who died last week from H1N1 and they have so many cases among teachers and students. The other system had a huge absentee rate late last week and decided to have fall break instead of spring break - that is a huge system (the 3rd largest in the state). I think we would all like to wish this virus away, but according to our state epidemiologist - it's going to be very active until Dec. Stay well, Axx!!!

I do so dislike misinformation.

They will meet the safety targets because the FDA has oversight of them. And because they do not want to be sued. The FDA has done an excellent job of protecting the public from unsafe medications and medical devices. As much as they are allowed to by law. Since so called natural products like ginko biloba and glucosamine are not covered by the FDA thanks to congress, then those of you who take that stuff are really playing russian roulette. Those products do not have to pass any safety standard.

I do so dislike misinformation.

How very kind of you to dig this out of the pile to tell me this. I think it may be a good idea for you to get your facts straight before giving out misinformation or perhaps listening to the wrong people. I so dislike misinformation, too. Three times in my area alone the flu shot clinic was cancelled for lack of flu serum after people stood in lines for hours. Only 11 million doses have been distributed as of October 25th. That's nationally.

Tell that to the NFL cheerleader who was disabled for life after taking this shot who can't even sue the pharmaceutical company for disabling her for life because of new laws passed to protect the pharmaceutical companies. And I am sure you are aware that the pharmaceutical companies have one of the, if not the biggest, lobby groups in Washington and donate untold amounts of $$$$ to their candidate of choice to promote their mutual agenda

Tell that to the millions of people that take glucosamine advised by their,orthopaedic surgeons and have had their joints healed, including myself, and didn't have to have surgery. And I am a medical professional and would not ill advise myself. But we're not talking about glucosamine or ginko biloba now, are we?
