What is missing here is a definition of social justices. Social justice is not "helping the poor." It is a concept better expressed as, "social" or "global equality." It is really an extension of socialistic views that demands that all people be afforded the right to benefit equally from all of the resources available from our environment and society as a whole.

I would lay stress on the "equality" aspect. Social justice (depending on how it is defined) is a secular and subjectively defined concept but its near universal application is that all people should be equal, no rich, no poor. It is an even keel where all resources are distributed equally among all members of society.

Essentially, social justice is an expression of socialism's ideal. The socialists have often hi-jacked the Bible's emphasis on helping the poor and have twisted the writings of Scripture to fit the socialistic ideal.

Social justice is nowhere taught in the Bible. Christianity is not commanded to eradicate poverty or to promote social equality. We have been given ONE mission and that is the presentation of the gospel. The ills of poverty will never be eliminated until Jesus returns.

Social justice is a distraction from our Great Commission.

I believe the "social justice" movement in the church could be the great apostasy of the end times. It replaces the true good news (God has made a way for you to be free from sin) with a religion of humanism. (God has made a way for you to eat, drink, and/or be happy)

These 2 words joined together has become a euphemism for marxist thinking in most countries (including America, especially Chicago) and often has anti-semitic & pro-abortion attitudes as well.

Like almost everything liberals do, the very name they give themselves is even a deception. It's all about the money and control.

It always is.

God bless Franklin Graham for his clarity.

Exactly my line of thinking bro. :emot-questioned: It is also why I find the article and interview to be startling because I haven't heard and Evangelical Leader speak so clearly on the issue and it's about time.

Ok and Amen, this again is what I'm looking at and have been looking for Evangelical Leaders to express. :emot-questioned:

Grace to you,

When I read stuff like this I like it when it makes me examine my Faith a little deeper. I believe we need awakenings like this within the Body. There is a whole lot of humanism creeping in and it is truly deceptive.

Peace,

Dave

Are we supposed to seek social justice above the Gospel?

Social justice is a part of the Gospel - "True religion is to feed the orphans and widows" (James something).

There's a balance, and we need to keep that in mind.

I agree, part of the Gospel IS feeding the poor and helping those in need in a variety of ways as a direct response to what Christ told us as one of the most important commands, to love our neighbor. So when we do this out of a pure love for human souls and love people the way that Christ loves us and those same human beings we are living and spreading the Gospel IF we give glory to Christ for all that we do. What did Christ tell the rich young man to do? He told him to sell his goods and give them to the poor and then come and follow Christ.

However I also understand the concern about simply doing this as some sort of social program without Christ, which of course is useless anyway. Also I don

It is continuing effort by humanism to creep in but also its contiuing failure. We have more awakenings around us than we realise. We take quick comfort when another human says something about the Gospel while we should take comfort by the Gospel itself. Not allways easy but possible.

Proverbs 8:36

And His Hypocrisy Of Right

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

Ezekiel 36:26

Hebrews 8:10

Be Blessed

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:10-12

Beloved Of

Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:14-16

The KING

The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

What I tell you in darkness, that speak ye in light: and what ye hear in the ear, that preach ye upon the housetops.

And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Matthew 10:24-28

Love, Your Brother Joe

And all the brethren which are with me, unto the churches of Galatia:

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:2-12

The old saying, "Charity starts at home" is seen in Paul's writings. For example the care of the widows by family or the church (1 Tim 5:3). We are our brothers (and sisters) keepers. Giving to the poor has always been fundamental to Jews and Christians alike.

Issues such as womens' rights, slavery and so on have been championed by certain Christian groups and much good has come of it. All that said, I believe we can overload the Gospel with social justice or political messages until the message of our Savior is lost.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
