No. According to John 1:12 we can become adopted as His children. We are His creation

there are lots of people who believe that every human is God's child... and that every baby conceived is God's will. (is that slightly off topic?) i don't believe that scripture backs up either assumption. the only humans that are God's children are the ones who are born again of the spirit.

Scripture very clearly tells us that children are a gift from GOD. There are many scriptures that tell us children are from GOD. It would be hard to ignor them and say that it doesn't mean all children. IMO

Your a child of God if you shoose to be. Remember, Jesus said to those who sought to kill Him in John chapter 8, "you are of your father the devil." You either belong to God, or to Satan.

You can't choose to be a child of God anymore than you can choose your parents in the human realm. God chooses his children as HE wills.

JOhn3:16 sums it up. We all have the right to "CHOOSE" to accept God as our Heavenly father. Saying that God chooses is an incorrect statement because God wants everyone to accept Him. Everyone has to make that "CHOICE" for themselves.

Your second statement is correct. Unless you are born again, Satan is your daddy. (ugh...there's a disgusting thought). Knowing that we have been chosen by God to be His children should make us all that more appreciative of our salvation.

You say it's disgusting, but reality is reality. Ephesians4:17-24 explains how those who don't know Christ are spiritually, and how we ar esupposed to be after knwoing Christ. Those who are not walking with God have all kinds of unrighteous fruit in their lives. Sin is of the devil, and those who ar enot serving God are serving sin.

I sorta knew this would take that turn when I read the post stating we must choose to be. I do have to go with GOD chooses who are HIS children. Children never choose who are their parents.

It's a revolting thought that the devil used to be my daddy, but yes, it's true. I need to root that firmly in mind as a guard against sin.

The Bible does not say that the devil is the father of unbelievers. Rather the Bible teaches that we are the devil's prisoners and servants of unrighteousness.

Honestly, why is it so hard for people to just say what the Bible says instead of inventing things like this.

Jesus said "you are of your father the devil" to his most bitterest enemies. Jesus was not saying they were the literal offspring of satan. It was a hebraic colloguialism that simply equated their hatred and attitudes toward Jesus as springing from Satan.

i didn't say children aren't a blessing. every child CAN be a blessing (gift) from God. but that does NOT mean that it was God's will for that child to have been concieved in the first place. if you believe that, then you also believe that the circumstances under which the conception occurred are God's will.... and that would include children conceived by rape, by incest, by adultery, and by fornication. so unless you think that God WILLS rape, incest, adultery and fornication to happen to some women, then you can't possibly believe that it is God's will that every child is conceived.

but God can certainly be glorified even under those circumstances, and the child can still be a blessing and a gift.

All human beings are God's creation, created in His image and after His likeness. Not all men are the children of God. God's family is a spiritual family and only those who have trusted in Christ are part of God's family. It really isn't more complicated than that.

I agree.... We are all born in His likeness ... some of us have chosen to follow - others not yet... thus, the followers are His true children.... we all have the option of chosing God.

Kross, since God gave us a freewill, He "WON'T" choose for us. "WE" must "CHOOSE" to accept Him as our Heavenly father. Many are choosing the wide road rather than the narrow road. They are choosing the path of sin and wickedness. If you accept the Lord into your heart, you have "CHOSEN" to allow God to be your spiritual father.

That is point of view. I do not agree with it, but you are welcome to it.

To me, for what it is worth, to say we need to "allow GOD" is just a rediculous idea. My GOD lives in Heaven and HE does as HE pleases. HE is not bound by this manmade construct that people call freewill. IMO

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
