How do you know God is real? i don't think anyone can know just by a book for real or people would have to believe in everything they read so how do you know for a fact that God is real?

As others have stated, it is faith. Everyone can see what God has created, but it takes faith to believe He did it. The Bible is more than a book. It is many books in one. Genesis is a book, Exodus is a book, and so on. There men who wrote the words down did so at the urging of the Holy Spirit. The men who wrote the words did not know each other and lived many, many years apart from each other. But the Bible does not contradict itself and is filled with prophecy. Prophecy is history written in advance. The Old Testament told of the Messiah - how He would come, what He would do - and those prophecies have been fulfilled. They also tell of the nation of Israel and how they would be taken from their land and scattered throughout the world, then in the last days they would become a nation once again. This has happened in recent years.

The Bible also talks of the life of Jesus. He did fulfill prophecy in the way He was born, and the fact is that God loves us so much that He chose to become a man in order to allow us the only way to spend eternity with HIm in Heaven. When a person accepts Him as their Saviour, their sins are forgiven. He has forgiven me so much and I am so thankful.

Me being a rational person who tries to view things logically when making choices, what makes the Bible more worthy of my faith and devotion than any of the hundreds of other religious texts. By the way I'm not trying to be a troll, just trying to have a discussion.

Christ. No other religion has Christ. God HImself who stepped into His creation because He loves us. There is no other religion with hope. All of the others require you to work your way into eternity, deny yourself enough to get into eternity, be reincarnated enough times to get it right so you can get into eternity. All of their leaders died and are still dead. Jesus Christ - God in the flesh - left an empty tomb when He rose from the grave. The Gospels tell us this happened and there were witnesses who saw Him after His resurrection. Yes, you can doubt and you can argue, but in the end it is only faith in Jesus the Christ that will save you from an eternity in Hell.

THIS IS A WELCOME POST SECTION! We have a person asking a valid question and is seeking answers. What we don't need is a bun fight and a "theological" discussion/argument here. We need to answer the question in a scriptural, bible based, grace filled way.

PLEASE! If you want to sound off against one another, or state opinions that are not directly to do with the original question, take them to the relevant section, and don't use the welcome post section to do it.

You will end up doing more damage than good.

If you will give Him your heart, and ask Him to come into your life, and simply believe that He is your Heavenly Father and that He wants the best for you, just like any good daddy would...then He will show you just how real He is. Look for Him, He is there if you ask Him. But you have to believe, and believing is a choice.

You can pray like this:

Dear Jesus,

I need you to come into my life and change me, I need to be forgiven of all past sins and start my new life with you today. I ask that you come into my heart and set me free. I want to learn more about you, and grow my faith. I want to be a child of God. I ask these things in Jesus name,

Amen

And then he is there...because you have asked Him. You see, He needs to be invited, He would never impose himself:>) And then day by day he will show you things and your belief will just grow!

All I can do is give you my experience so far. :24:

God reveals Himself to you - once I accepted Jesus Christ into my heart and acknowledged Him as the Son of God and saviour of men and my mortal soul, knowing He is the ONLY way to God, then slowly bit by bit through experiences that I myself have gone through with the Holy Spirit's guidance (not multitudes of books written by others), I have come to know the reality and absolute existence of God and that He is real and is in the here and now as well as time past.

There was a time I would read many Christian books and testimonials and "wish" I had experiences that the authors had - but I don't do that anymore - I now draw on my own experiences and see clearly the Hand of God and how He moved - and I mean the good and the bad times as well.

Hope this was eay to follow for you !!

It helps if you're willing to ignore scientific evidence.

true science proves the Word of God,

God's Word is the base line that is to be used. if something does not line up with the Word of God, it is to be thrown out...

Science has never been able to disprove the Bible.

the Bible does disprove junk science.....

Duckling are you seeking to know Jesus?

Be receptive to Him - be soft for Him and don't harden your heart.

There is great reward in having Jesus at the centre of your life - you will never be the same again and you will be on a very interesiting/amazing journey and all the bad times will be with Jesus at your very side - you will never be alone again. That's truly wonderful!

Hello again duckling, I would like to briefly-as briefly as possible anyway, describe why i think the bible is very trutworthy and something we can rely on in seeking to use it to learn about God.

Firstly the bible was written by over 40 authors, in 13 countries, on 3 continents over 1500 years. Yet it has more continuity than any modern book series written by a single author over a period of maybe a decade. If thats not God at work, what else is?

Secondly, we have alot of manuscript evidence to support the NT. There are thousands of NT documents dating from very early, alot earlier than any other historic document. the closest is Homer, with 600.

finally, the bible contains hundreds of detailed prophecies. Many pertaining to Jesus. His birth in bethlehem, his birth from a virgin, his betrayal for thirty silver, his death all these and hundreds more prophesised before his birth, some hundreds of years prior.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
