If you could eliminate one weakness or limitation in your life, what would it be?

For me I would eliminate my fear of failure. It stops me sometimes from even trying anything. I want to have the boldness of Christ to let nothing stop me from seeking His will and following through now matter what! I would like to get rid of my compulsion that I have to please everyone around me in order for them to like me. I don't even know who I am anymore. I spend most of my time trying to figure out how to make people happy. It is draining the life out of me. I guess I just don't feel that there is anything about me as a person that people would like so I just try and find ways of making others happy instead.

Marilyn: I have a terrible fear of failing so why even bother? I know, that sounds really bad (and it is) but that's where I'm at.

Mine would have to be my insecurity.

I am insecure about myself, about others about who I am, about if others are happy with me. I am tired of worrying about it all. I want to be strong in Jesus, and secure in Him. I want to be able to trust in Him. But for some reason......seems like ....I can't.

Ya Cat I hear you I feel the same way. But you can't give in to those feelings because then Satan wins and we both know that is not His plan. You have to remember that God doesn't make mistakes and He doesn't make junk. You are very important to Him and you are very important to all of us here on Worthy. You have alot of wisdom and you have a gift of saying the right thing at the right time! And that is a gift Cat, don't doubt it. God is using you in ways that may not be visable right now but they will be in time.

I know I have been blessed by your words and by talking to you. You have alot of compassion for people and animals, not everyone has that. Do not let your fear of failing take over your life that is not of God pray it down Cat and I stand in agreement with you. You are a creation of the mighty Jehovah and you can't get any better then that there is no better then that.

Channel that discouragement into good do something for someone that isn't expecting anything do it annoymously it will make you feel great inside and give you a feeling of self worth. It is so much fun to bring some joy into someones life even if it is just for a moment. We can all do that.

It gets our minds off ourselves and our problems and we are honouring God at the same time. You can't get much better then that. Its called random acts of kindness and it feels great. Boost someone up who is feeling down send flowers, cards, make cookies, cut someones grass, take out someones garbage, carry someones grocerys we can always find some little thing to make anothers day brighter. I love you Cat you are important to me and alot of people here so don't ever forget that ok!

He Is An Awesome God

Marilyn,

Wow!!! You floored me! What you said was very brave and honest and you are to be commended! There's nothing wrong with pleasing people as long as you don't compromise or values or beliefs. And as far as people liking you, you haven't done anything for me directly per se but your threads are thought-provoking and are weighty and I admire and respect you for that. And yet you haven't gone out of your way for me, so you see, it's not about what you do for people. You were just doing something from your heart and yet you affect people in a positive way.

So if your threads are any indication of the real Marilyn, then I like your honesty, your concern and love for people, and your love for the Lord. Don't underestimate yourself because you never know who you're quietly blessing. :)

Oh yeah, I forgot....I would eliminate my lust. It would be nice to talk to a guy with my eyes focused on his eyes only, and have a pure heart and thoughts always, to look at men like a brother. This has always been a stronghold for me and it's not pleasing to God.

I would like to eliminate my shyness. I have a difficult time speaking to strangers and even sometimes my family who is lost. I want to be more bold...I've been praying for it.

I actually think I have the exact opposite problem of what most of you are stating, I am too confident and too outspoken at times. I think that is where i need to do some work.

God Bless,

Dave

Can I recommend movie that I saw? That has completely healed me of insecurity? It is by Max Lucado and it is called "you are special", I think it is also a book. It is actually geared toward little kids, but it changed my life. If you don't have the money see if your church has it in a library or something, or hey, go to a Christian book store and just read it while your there. It isn't that long of a story.

I think one of my greatest weaknesses is my lack of faith. I have some faith, but I want to be so confident in believing the impossible, that doubt never even enters into my mind.

I guess another one that is a problem for me is my lack of patience with other Christians who are not as mature as me. I really just want to slap them and tell them to get a clue (see what I mean)!

I hope it is okay that I have two! There are more where that came from, but those are my biggest two I am dealing with right now.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
