I agree LadyC, there is only ONE who can read it "properly"... The Holy Spirit who wrote it who then explains it to us.

and how do we know that the one who is "reading it properly" and imparting that understanding to us is the Holy Spirit?

by studying the written word of God to see if it lines up.

and the Holy Spirit didn't write the word of God. shoulda quit while you were ahead!

LOL, you're right... men inspired by God did the writing. :amen: (It is getting late!)

The only caution I would give regarding "the lining up" is that the bible is the "Good" Book, and it can and has been used for evil purposes. So, if the lining up is Good, then... yes.

if it lines up with scripture, it can't NOT be good... the bible isn't just the "good" book. the bible is the Holy written Word of God. but i get what you're saying.

well at least you agree with my added statements. but how do you know that my statements line up with the written word of God?

any answers given to the original question are NOT dependent upon my understanding of scripture... or your agreement with my understanding of scripture, it's dependent SOLELY on your own understanding of scripture.

but i'll accept your answer at face value and say then that there is no further reason for you to argue in defense of those who have evaded the question, both in theory for the last 30 pages, and in reality for the last one or two pages.

so for the rest of you, please answer.

if it is not in 100% agreement with the written word of God, it is not of God. true or false?

Sorry about not getting back to you sooner on the site LadyC. I had another task I needed to do. It did bring to my e-mail and so you got a response during that time on your PM.

Of course what the Lord says lines up witht he scriptures, and everytime. Indeed it is written the the scriptures are good for reproof. And in the scriptures, it explains that His sheep will hear His voice. It also explains that we will be taught by God. Isaiah 30 : 20 ... Yours ears will hear a word behind you, "This is the way, walk in it," whenever you turn to the left or the right.

There are times that I actually hear Him tell me where to turn, which lane of the freeway to be in, and even suggest which clothes I were. However, I normally only hear the voice of the Lord 10 to 20 times are day. I mean I usually only have conversations with Him about that many times each day. I admit, that is not all that good considering that He is always with me. Jesus said that He only said what the Father told Him. So every word He was saying was from the Father. I fall quite short of that.

So how many times a day do you hear from Him?

It is written that what you hear whispered in your ear shout on the house tops. I already mentioned one thing the Lord told me, in a response to your PM. Let me just provided another, so you can understand the type of things I hear, and to shout on the house tops like instructed in the scripture.

Christians, by the very nature of being human, do sin - they repent and are forgiven, but they are not sinless...

and... every person we meet does NOT have the love of Jesus in them.... it would be lovely if they did - but they don't. Your comments sound so very new-age and can you provide Scripture that says everyone has Jesus in them? :noidea:

I am not saying that everyone has the love of Jesus in them. I am saying you can meet Jesus in everyone even if they hate Jesus you can meet Jesus in them. This happens when we become born again. Becoming born again is mystical and is a gift from the Holy Ghost.

So - even if they HATE Jesus we can meet Jesus in them? Just how does that happen? You throw being born again out there but it has nothing to do with how people who HATE Jesus actually HAVE Jesus in them.... Did George Fox explain this?

Jesus is love. Jesus is love for other people. Say you meet your friend. You love him so much but he hates God because he wants to be rich and have as much money as possible. You still love him though as God loves him. When you love him you serve love which is God (Jesus). Thus you meet Jesus in him even if he hates God.

When one becomes born again the Holy Ghost comes and opens one's eyes to this. When one becomes born again the Holy Ghost loves others thorugh us. We see Jesus in them and they see Jesus in us.

This is regular Christianity.

Grace to you,

The Jesus you see in the other is not His Spirit but the fact that he/she is made in the image of God.

Do you agree?

Peace,

Dave

Luke 17:20 And when he was demanded of the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said, The kingdom of God cometh not with observation; Neither shall they say, Lo here! or lo there! for behold, the kingdom of God is within you.

Now the Pharisees were not believers, nor did they hear the words of God, at least so as they knew. And in another verse it is explained that they would not enter in, but here we see that Jesus Christ, our Lord, told them that the kingdom of God was within them. Is this not so, or how do you explain this verse?

Jesus was telling them that the Kingdom was already amidst them in His person and that the Kingdom does not come from Observation or practice but comes from within the born again heart.

This does not support that everyone including the nonbeliever has Jesus in them.

Peace,

Dave

When I am talking about Jesus being in everyone I am not talking of everyone obeying Jesus or eveyone being born again. I am explaining what sees when one becomes born again of the Spirit.

Funny.....I've never seen Jesus in any sinners. But I have seen, sensed and felt the demons of darkness in them. The demon possessed man in the bible certainly did not have Jesus in him, but had enough demons to destroy 2,000 pigs. After he was set free and delivered from the devils his mind was made whole. I'm getting concerned about you Seeker (sorry I called you my sister, I didn't realize you were male). I'm going to pray for you as I believe that you mean well, but are hopelessly in scriptural error. And I'm doing this in love....that's all that matters....right?

Do you love sinners? Do you care for them? Do you love those that are bad to you? Jesus is the love for these people. Serve it and see if you see Jesus.

Yes, we are commanded to love everyone and to show the love of Jesus Christ to sinners And yes, we can love those who are "bad" to us by the grace of God. I don't serve love, I serve the God who loves. It is the spirit of God in us who convicts the sinner of unrighteousness, not necessarily me giving someone a big bear hug and saying I love you. Which I would do if God told me to do of course. But it would still be the spirit of God doing the loving. You serve Jesus first and seek his face, he will fill you with his spirit. Have you been filled with the Holy Spirit? Do you believe in the gifts of the spirit? Love is a fruit of the spirit.

You keep leaving out another side of God. God is also a jealous God and he is just. He will pour out his wrath on the unbelievers who reject his plan of salvation, after he gives them chance after chance after chance to repent.

Somehow I don't think we are on the same page here Seeker, about anything.

oh my goodness cb, are you writing a novel? LOL. i'm only halfway through your post... you must have written it offline and then pasted it here or something. anyway, i'm reading, i'm reading... just a couple of comments to make along the way...

yes, you did answer my question in a pm. i do appreciate you taking the time to also answer it publically.

i hear from God fairly often during the day... although i don't spend nearly as much time in prayer and communication with Him as i should. i hear from Him in many ways. and the most prevalent way is through studying the scriptures, and through prayer, and through that conviction that comes from the Holy Spirit. the Bible is like His letter to us. if we don't study it, we are not capable of knowing Him. likewise, if we don't spend time with Him in prayer and in worship, we aren't capable of knowing Him. and if we don't do those things, we are incapable of recognizing His voice when He does speak to us, in whichever way He chooses to speak. i've also, once, heard the audible voice of God. it was many years ago. God doesn't speak out loud very often to people, and trust me, if you ever hear Him speak, it's because He wants your full attention!

God doesn't need us to "make Him" an awesome God. i do hope that the way you worded that is not how you meant it. God is awesome all by Himself. He doesn't need our help.

about seeker's whole thing regarding andrea yates, i never expected him to judge. i was using that as an example of someone who believed that she had, without a doubt, heard the voice of God, and she obeyed that voice out of love for Him and for her children. i didn't want a judgment about the case, i wanted an answer regarding what he kept insisting over and over ad nauseum... that when we hear an inner voice and it is love then it is God. andrea yates is a prime example of how flawed that reasoning is... and i wanted him to answer. HOW can we know that the voice we are hearing is truly God?

ok i'll go finish reading now. it's getting late though, and mark and i just finished dinner, and now i need to clean the kitchen (again... ugh...) so i may or may not have time to respond to the other half.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
