The tea party was "founded" by folks who are unhappy with both parties. They are tired of big spending, taxes and government as usual. Both parties are guilty of this so the tea baggers were unhappy with democrats and republicans. They want the government back for the people, not the party.

So, Is Sarah the leader of the Republican party or the tea baggers?

From what she said in Nashville, she wants to have the tea baggers under the Republican umbrella. This strategy will destroy the tea bag movement by merging it with the Republican party.

I have to agree, KatyAnn. The Tea Party movement should remain outside of the two parties; who have become nearly indistinguishable from each other, IMO.

Lets see what happens to the people she endorses for this year. That will be the bell weather sign.

That will definitely tell the tale but....I just don't hear a conviction to run in her words. I believe the wounds from 2008 are still fresh for her and, if I was the Governor, I wouldn't put my family through it again. I just watched Joy Behar and Ron Reagan, on CNN, trash Mrs. Palin completely; and that's without the hat in the ring.

Imagine how vicious it would get if she did run!

Just curious. Why do you call her the Governor?

It's something I learned from watching 'Huckabee' (one of my favorite governors!). When one is elected Governor, of any state, they retain that title until they assume another one.

All I can say is that a lot needs to change before Sarah can win an election. And it's not just overcoming her critics and all that goes with that. A lot needs to change with this country and the attitude of it's people, and for that to happen.

No, I think that what she said was that she was hoping that the Tea Party would force the GOP back to the conservative right and realign it's platform to be more like the Ronald Reagan era, their most recent conservative platform.. You know, smaller govt., lower taxes, adherence to the Constitution, citizen politicians.

Ya' know, I really like her. I like her values, I respect her as a woman of integrity, and I think that after some adjustment she would make a great leader. But she just doesn't have "it" as far as being able to stand up against a well-polished career politician in a debate. She was miserable against Joe Biden - and he's a pretty dumb guy! If she ran on the Republican ticket not only would she use but the Republican party would be a laughing stock.

I agree that Reagan was the most recent conservative we have had, but was he even really for or about smaller Govt?

Of course. Go back and read his speeches on domestic policies.

Oh, I get your point. There is no difference between the two parties, they are both corrupt. But the goal of the Tea Party is either to move the GOP back to the conservative, faith aware govt. of the past or, failing that, to start a viable 3rd party, that pulls in conservative Republicans, Democrats, Independents and Libertarians.

Go back and read the running commentary about Ronald Reagan. It all sounds eerily similar.

He was a stupid dolt and an actor who lacked political credentials and the depth of thought needed to not only win but to lead the Nation. Shoot, the Left tarred him with it while he was in fact Leading the Nation.

However, the fact remains that Sara had more Political experience and practice than President Obama when he actually won.

As we can currently see, Leading has nothing to do with Political Philosophy, or even Charisma. It has much more to do with core principles. Reagan had three or four core principles as a platform and he led from them for 8 years and really had coat tails up until the modern day.

Look at the Great Leaders in the Word and you will see a panoply of folks whom the world counted out, but God saw their heart.

I don't think a woman, Republican or Democrat would ever get elected because the Congress is an "old boys club." There are men up there who have been in office for some 50 or 60 years, and doubt they would take orders from a woman. They would throw their weight behind any male candidate before they would support a female candidate, and we saw that happen when most of the dems in the House and Senate basically dumped Hillary like tub of dirty dishwasher and threw their support behind Obama even though Hillary was the better and more experinced candidate.
