Biblically

Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.

Jeremiah 17:5

True

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.

Jeremiah 17:7

True

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psalms 27:14

True

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Not in the Bible.

The only Scripture that comes to the top of my head about who God helps is this verse:

2 Chronicles 16:9 - For the eyes of the LORD range throughout the earth to strengthen those whose hearts are fully committed to him.

Actually, You'd be surprised at how many self professed Christians there are that hold this viewpoint.

I believe it comes from a Secular Humanistic worldview.

Yet the Bible tells us to renew our minds.

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall!

Isaiah 11
