Whether or not outsiders are used to monitor the presidential elections is problematical, but to say it's the business of the UN only I dont think is true. What goes on in the USof America is very muh of a concern of her friends and allies. I for one, and I know many more in N.Z are very focused on your elections. If America crumbles we all crumble. The church in America, like all the rest of the English speaking countries is fast going down the spititual gurgler anf if you get a pro abortion and a pro homosexual president.IMHO, it wont be God bless America, it will a case God help America. If you folks can't sort this sort of thing by yourselves, what it wrong with allowing impartial outsiders to observe, and if nescessary arbitrate between you. Americans afterall see little problem with getting themselves (and not always impartially) involved in other people's internal conflicts.

The hanging chads farce did not strike me as an example of a particularly efficient electoral system nor did banning people for voting because people with similar names had criminal records. Lots of your compatriots, those on the losing side, of course, also seemed less than convinced with the justice of the eventual outcome. The best thing in all this was it gave the rest of the world a good laugh. Pomposity like yours, of course, only makes us laugh more.
