How many were stabbed?

According to our media there are 6 IDF wounded. One officer thrown to a lower deck then stabbed in the stomach. One has a broken scull bone from a blow on the head. one shot in the knee (SHOT mind you - by peace activists), the others I don't know.

By the way, the CNN have it wrong, there was NO IDF soldier killed!

Israel is losing international goodwill through actions like this, regardless of any justification.

What goodwill would that be? Other than the U.S. I can't think of any country that tries to help Israel. Well, Germany has...to a certain extent.

There isn't a nation on earth that would've allowed ships with suspected terrorists (much less those known to be hostile to your country) on board to enter their ports without searching them at the very least. There certainly isn't any country who's authorities wouldn't have immediately defended themselves when faced with hostilities from those ships (the United States would've very likely have sank them then and there).

They were going to Gaza not Israeli ports.

The problem being that while the ship was in the exclusive economic zone, it was not in territorial waters, nor was it in the exclusion zone, for purposes of international law, it was in international waters

If that was the only problem, there would be no problem. You need to understand we are defending our lives here!

The US and western allies went all the way to Iraq, Afganistan etc to combat the terrorists. Do we have to stay home and wait for them to bomb us?

No one is saying we are perfect. We make mistakes same as everyone else. Trouble is we get blamed for anything we do to protect ourselves!!

That is not acceptable!

It's not acceptable for the Palestinians to live under the control and domination of a foreign power either. The proper, short term, solution would be for the Egyptians to open the border crossings allowing the Gazans to be freed from the Israeli stranglehold.

There needs to be much stronger international pressure on all parties to ensure the establishment of a free, independent and secure Palestine alongside a free independent and secure Israel (within its 1967 borders).

Wrong Fez. Deadly force can be met with deadly force. Once they started stabbing and using deadly force, Israel was justified in responding with deadly force of its own sufficient to eliminate the threat. You need to read my post which shows how international law defines disproportionate force.

And you need to read my post #46, after I had read the full repot Nebula posted I am in agreement with you. The international waters thing, I am not so sure about........
