Over and over you hear of unbelievers talking about being broken. About how much they hurt.

We know that God heals. he mends the broken, makes all things new. ect.

but when a Christian feels broken........it isn't always an attack from satan....(I don't think any way)

have you ever just felt broken? like something wasn't right? Like you weren't put back together, like you are missing something?

if you've been broken before maybe you know what I am talking about. Like after being broken for so long, why isn't one un-broken. I know our spiritual lives aren't based on feelngs and what not.But some feelings you cannot deny. That gut-wrenching feeling, makes you want to crawl in a hole and make everything dissapear.

I don't want to hear that God can heal broken hearts. I KNOW he can.

but lets talk about verses, experiences, about being broken , or God healing you. Any advice/comments?

This is just a topic on my heart, so please reply. I am really going out there....I just hate when topics don't get responses.

Beth

:t2: So many times we want to blame somebody for our trouble...and for believers, Satan is an easy target. I agree Beth...our problems are not always an attack from Satan and we need to learn how to distinguish through discernment.

I will add more later. Very tired and heading to bed sister.

Be Blessed,

Beth, I think the 23rd Psalm is so common, but so appropriate here. When I feel this way all I have to do is start reading the Bible and I immediatly realize how insignificant I am. I realize how blessed I am for having the opportunity to Live with God. God put us here to make a decision, whether to accept Jesus as our savior or not. The rest is the easy part, living and dealing in this world in such a manner that honors and pleases God. I'm with you dear sister, kat and I love you and will always be there for you...

your brother in Christ,

senerhu

Isn't it wonderful how the Lord can take a broken vessel and make something beautiful out of it. When we take Him our brokenness His gentle hand just reaches out and makes everything new. He is the Potter, we are the clay. There is not a broken vessel He cannot fix.

It was in my brokenness that I first reached out to Jesus. He was right there beside me the whole time.

It was in my brokenness that I learned to lean on Him and stand on His promises.

It was in my brokenness that I learned to set aside my own pain and minister to someone else, and I realized this kind of proving ground was to make me better as I grow in the grace and knolwedge of Him.

The Lord can use broken vessels.

He must increase and I must decrease.

I've heard the story of how shepherds in Biblical days cared for sheep. One part of this was how they took care of run-away sheep (sheep who kept running away from the flock). The shepherd would actually break the sheep's leg! But then he'd carry the sheep until it's leg healed. :il: By the time the leg healed, the sheep would fall so in love with the shepherd that it would never stray again.

Sometimes our brokenness is God's way of drawing us closer to Him.

Strange how that works, huh?

I can only share what I have experienced. I have to admit that I have a huge problem with pride. That is something I am constantly fighting against. I mean pride in the sense that I always desire compliments, accalaides, pats on the back, and sometimes my motivation in doing things is only to receive the compliments, etc. The Lord knows this about me and He knows that I do not want to be like this, so what does He do? He breaks me! He does what needs to be done to bring me back into total dependance on Him. I really liked the example Nebula shared about the shepherd and the sheep (reminds me of the song too "it's all about you, Jesus. It's not about me" I've come to LOVE that song!). I must be a pretty dense sheep because sometimes as soon as I "heal" I'm off and running on my own again. lol! But God is patient with me and keeps teaching me. I am so grateful for it even though when I'm in the midst of brokeness it hurts like crazy! You are right in saying that all brokeness is not from the enemy, but from a loving Father who knows what we need. Thank Him for brokeness and allow yourself to be drawn closer to Him so you can learn what He needs you to learn. God bless you! You are a special person and I love you as my sister!

This topic is just amazing. For the past week or so, I have been dealing specifically with being broken. It has been rough! Like Katie, by biggest problem was pride and I was so proud, I didn't even know it! :D

I am slowly learning that it is not about me, it was never about me and it never will be about me. It is all about Jesus. :il: How did I not see this before? How was I a Christian and not "get" this? It took Jesus taking a step back away from me for me to realize I am nothing, absolutely nothing on my own. I need Him, I crave Him, I thirst for Him, needless to say when He stepped back I went running to Him. :king:

I now appreciate the refiner's fire. I appreciate being broken, because I know that it is all for God's glory. After being broken you begin to see God in a way you never have before. Everything is clearer and calmer, more real! If you are in the process of being broken, please know that it may be hard while you are in the midst of it, but oh the joy when God brings you out of it! It is worth every minute of it! :P

All Glory to God!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
