What is this thing with cell phones. I have one but hardly use it, but my goodness people are sooooooooo into it, and this texting thing, I mean whats wrong with leaving a message on voice mail, every where I go people on cell phones.

I am sooo with you on this one tigger. I finally bought one,tooo,after someone stole all of the pay phones in our city, I didn't have a choice. This is one thing that I wish had never ever beeen invented, it has literally destroyed our society, and the respect people used to have for each other. We used to be able to talk to other people in a room without wondering if they had a telephone hidden on them somewhere and they were talking to someone more "important" than us low-lives that were actually in the same room with them. And its frustrating at work when your coworkers have their tiny little fingers flying away on tiny little keyboards when they are supposed to be working as a team. And you can't ask the manager to talk to them, because they are doing the same thing! No one wants to take care of business, and no one wants to respect those people who are physically in the room.

I have to say....I've never in my life wondered if other people in a room had a telephone hidden on them somewhere and were communicating with someone more important. Most companies don't allow employees to sit and text all day; that's just weird. You said that all the pay phones in Plano, Texas were stolen? When did this happen? Did they catch whoever did that?

I'm trying to figure out where would I put a giant phone, and yet how could some one not see me take a giant street phone.

I was waiting on this customer at work, and he was talikng on his cell phone, and he told me to hang on, I'm like no way, There are other people waiting behind him. I feel bad but I had to take the next customer untill he finished, Sorry but I thought that was rude.

If he was on the phone, he shouldn't have been in line in the first place. He gave you no choice. You did the right thing. People need to either get out of line and talk on their phones or get in line and hang up.

Not only rude, but inconsiderate to others. Late one night I was at the Walmart, and couldn't find a price. The thingie that help found prices wasn't working (at least for me), anyway I went to about 3 employees who acted as if I was in the wrong for asking questions while they were on the cellph. Everywhere I looked the employees was either checking their phones, texting or talking. Finally out of nowhere a manager appeared, I told him about the trouble of trying to get service cause everyone seen busy on their cell. He found the item price and give a me a discount.

I finished before my sister, so I found a sit at the photography shop, right in front of the checkout. Boy do news fly all the checker started looking over at me. My sister (she once worked there) later told me they probably thought I was one of the people Walmart sends in (a spy) to check out stores to see how and where to improve customer services.

Reply:Theres an attachment for your phone called bluetooth- I'm kind of surprised you never heard of it-its been out a while, look it up. Unfortunately, my company allows employess to use their cell phones, thats not in my control, so call it what you want. And since you haven't had any payphones taken out where you live, I'm glad for you. Maybe you will become a happier person. Whatever it takes.

I'm well aware of what a bluetooth attachment is, Shiloh. You said you wondered if other people in a room had a TELEPHONE hidden on them, not a bluetooth headset...there's really no reason to get all defensive and rude because someone responds to what YOU posted. No, we've not had pay phones stolen in Houston that I know of; mostly because there aren't any. It didn't make me a happier person though.

I only deal with customers over the phone but, if I kept one waiting while I was taking a personal cell call, I would be looking for a job if they found out. There is NO tolerance for disrespecting a customer. Some of them send in purchase orders worth millions. Any employee is expendable when it comes to their bottom line and it should be that way at WalMart as well. You were right to tell the manager about being ignored, 2J.

What makes me uneasy how quickly luxuries are made into necessities in our culture. I
