.....there are some who believe, that the dinosaurs(Job 40:15-ff), died in the flood.

Utter nonsense - Behemoth can be taken to mean any of several large and powerful land animals, usually the hippo but also the elephant or any bovine. However, identification of the exact creature is unimportant; the point of the passage is that Job does not even have the power to control the creature and therefore cannot presume to demand answers or an accounting from God.

Hippo's and elephants have tails like cedars????

Got Theory?

What profiteth the graven image that the maker thereof hath graven it;

the molten image, and a teacher of lies, that the maker of his work trusteth therein, to make dumb idols?

Woe unto him that saith to the wood, Awake; to the dumb stone, Arise, it shall teach!

Behold, it is laid over with gold and silver, and there is no breath at all in the midst of it.

But the LORD is in his holy temple: let all the earth keep silence before him. Habakkuk 2:18-20

Get Truth

In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature: For by him were all things created,

that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers:

all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist. 1 Colossians 1:14;17

....What I realized is that none of these questions are salvation issues, i.e. that what you believe about the answers determines your destiny. You can answer "No" to any or all of them and still be saved.....

The Proud

Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter's clay:

for shall the work say of him that made it, He made me not?

or shall the thing framed say of him that framed it,

He had no understanding? Isaiah 29:16

Or The Living

And he humbled thee,

and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know;

that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word

that proceedeth out of the mouth of the LORD doth man live. Deuteronomy 8:3

....So let me expand my original inquiry - "Who says I'm getting too smart for my own good if I answer yes to one or more of the questions?" and "Why is that a bad thing?" and "By what authority must I believe in the literal truth of these events?" Inquiring minds want to know....

?

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written,

That man shall not live by bread alone,

but by every word of God. Luke 4:4

Literally

For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man:

but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Peter 1:21

The Literal Truth

Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming?

for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.

For this they willingly are ignorant of, that by the word of God the heavens were of old,

and the earth standing out of the water and in the water:

Whereby the world that then was,

being overflowed

with water,

perished: 2 Peter 3:3-6

Be Blessed Beloved Of The KING

Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; and his greatness is unsearchable.

One generation shall praise thy works to another, and shall declare thy mighty acts.

I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works. Psalms 145:3-5

I ran through that list and answered 'yes' to every question, without hesitation. Faith for me is simple; if Scripture tells me it is so, then it is so. Nothing hard about that.

This is exactly what I love about you my Sister!!! Cause you and I are certainly cut from the same cloth... Love Steven

I've read this with interest, because I haven't always been able to say "yes" to all those things.

Some people are going to answer no to a few things, not because they are too "smart", but because they have accepted false teaching without questioning it. Not pride, not worldly wisdom, but a lack of studying and testing all things.

I don't think we can characterise all people who take non literal (or even wrong) interpretations of scripture... they are a diverse bunch! [Truth be known, even those who answered "yes" to all questions are diverse!].

My two cents :).

Wow thats cheap I would have given a dollar for this  Love Steven

If you answer "No", to any of these questions(except for maybe #3), you have become "too smart".

Says who?

Which did you say "No" to?

None...and don't change the subject.

Touchy are ya? Paul, seems like you are having a bit of trouble lately here. Could it be your attitude?

Colossians 4:6

Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.

No, I'm not touchy; I've answered yes to all of the questions because at one time or another I've doubted all of them and thought them through. What I realized is that none of these questions are salvation issues, i.e. that what you believe about the answers determines your destiny. You can answer "No" to any or all of them and still be saved.

So let me expand my original inquiry - "Who says I'm getting too smart for my own good if I answer yes to one or more of the questions?" and "Why is that a bad thing?" and "By what authority must I believe in the literal truth of these events?" Inquiring minds want to know.

Thank you for explaining. I appreciate the time and clarity.

When I read the OP, I did not take it as you did. I saw it as not taking His word at face value where, through our understanding, we tore the verse apart, used science to confirm the "facts", and coming up with an answer that rejects scripture. In other words, not trusting God, but our own intellect.

May it be said of those who possess faith that it is the fact that to step into His presence with His Word alone within will be the only acceptable Words so as to speak.... once in the presence of the total of Holiness nothing of sin shall be- including Words formed outside of The Written Word we now possess... Notice Joe few Words of His own and much of Scripture He is witnessing of this time that comes to each one born of woman for an answer unto God... Love Steven

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
