I think Beck started losing people because he got more popular. He is a fierce pro-american, but too often he appears to pander for ratings. I think the beginning of the end for him was the Katie Couric interview. He made glaring gaffs in that interview including saying that "McCain would have been a worse president than Obama." He then started saying things like comparing those that question Obama's birth status with 9/11 truthers. Really... was it a good idea for him to compare many of his audience (who just want to see a birth certificate) with people who believe that the US Gov't sanctioned 9/11? Talk about biting the hand that feeds you.

I don't think that Beck is considered 'level-headed" enough to most conservatives. He is respected for several reasons (ferocious research, pro-american)...but he's also liable to say some off-the-wall things that most conservatives would rather not be associated with. He's a mainstream Michael Savage.

 I can't stand Savage, doesn't mean I don't think he has some truth, Beck is just goofy and likes to hear himself talk a lot, I would hate to be made to sit in a talk with the two of those guys!

As for M.G. worrying about those with "exteme views" unable to become President, JFK's Roman Catholicism underscored "extreme views" including putting Jesus Christ back up on the Cross of Calvary in every "sacrifice" of a mass in spite of Hebrews 10:10-12! Plus a "purgatory" and a Roman papacy yet, unknown in Holy Writ! Thanx but I would still like a Glenn Beck over an Obama by one-thousand-to-one. And yes, Michelle Bachman as well as Sarah Palin in 2012. Or do you really appreciate to any extent the full-scale bankrupting of America by the current socialist administration?

If those ratings came out after last week, then the obvious reason his viewership dropped is because he wasn't there. People want to see and listen to Glenn Beck and don't care much for a substitute. I like Mark Levin, Michael Savage and will tolerate Rush for about an hour. Rush just comes off so arrogant at times, that I get the impression he isn't genuine.

You must be referring to Mitt Romney...although I haven't mentioned him in this thread. JFK was before my time so I won't comment on the peoples' thinking back then. I've no idea why you go on so about who is going to run in 2012 in the U.S. but if you want Glenn Beck in office then elect him Prime Minister of Canada....you know, that country you live in. :whistling:

Oh...and Sarah Palin won't be on the ticket in 2012.

But the bottom line is that if Beck is preferable in our most emphatic opinion to an Obama "one-thousand-to-one" morally. militarily, socially, financially, whatever, that says much, much more about Obama & his current position as president. Almost ANYONE is preferable in 2012 including a Romney, a Petraeus or, of course, Sarah Palin. If elected, a Mormon Romney would not be selected on the basis of his Mormonism but rather on the basis of his strategic political and business experience, in an UltraLibDem Massachusetts yet! And, of course, in our books Romney came across as a convincing "head honcho" in the Republican debates a few years back. Candidates in 2012 will not be elected on the basis of their Mormonism, Romanism or atheism, but mainly because of their stand on the U.S. Constitution & its implications re limited government, conservatism, national security, financial acumen, moral justice, etc. One need not fear that any Joseph Smith, Jr. will occupy the White House and turn it into a Salt Lake Temple.

God Bless America!

Yes to Michelle Bachman!

Yes to David Petraeus!

Yes to Mitt Romney!

Yes to Sarah Palin 2012!

I happened to catch a few minutes of his show today and once again he was preaching. Then a born again caller came on and spoke about how he needs to stop preaching and get back to informing. Beck politely cut the caller off and said if it means he loses some of his audience so be it. He feels the need to preach at this time and thats how its gonna be. I turned off my radio at that point. Would rather drive in silence than listen to mormon preaching.

That is funny. I was listening to that caller too. Beck is transitioning from a whistleblower/watchdog to a Mormon evangelist. I think that is a bad idea. I believe our Christian faith is very important and is one of the things that must be restored before the country can be. Glenn Beck is right about a lot of things and has shown he can change his style and keep a large audience, but I think he is missing the mark on this one. We still have plenty others to listen to. Andrew Wilkow, Mike Church, Mark Levin, Michael Savage, Rush Limbaugh, Laura Ingraham, Mark Simone, Sean Hannity, etc. The conservative talk show market is very competitive right now.

I think that the Holy Spirit is leading his Christian viewers away from him because he is starting to put forth his religious views. I know that the Spirit made my spirit unsettled which caused me to stop watching him months ago. Just my thoughts.

Yep, when you invoke "God" that is one thing. But when you announce the fact that you are still a Mormon and are telling everyone that faith is what we are called to, that's another. I don't disagree with his trumpet, but the problem is thta he worships a different god then we do, and Mormonism denies the deity of Christ. 2 Things that aren't able to be overlooked. If he goes back to the political rhetoric and exposing hypocrisy, then he'll get his audience back.

I got home early today and caught part of Beck's program, He had a board set up with the names 'Jesus', 'Moses', 'Martin Luther King' and 'Ghandi' written on it. He and the Indian gentleman (didn't catch his name) were equating the four, one with the other. What? Jesus, the Messiah and Son of God; Moses, who led his people out of Egypt and received the Ten Commandments from God Himself; Martin Luther King, one of the greatest Christian leaders of the past few centuries and........Mahatma Ghandi???? A pagan that worshipped at the shrines of over fifteen thousand idols? What???? I will never, EVER, watch his show again.

He tries to "ham it up" too much. He tries to be funny, and it really bottoms out. Leave the comedy routines to the stand-ups, I say. That and he really needs to get back to what he good at and stop with the religious lectures.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
