The guys were from North Carolina. Do they all talk like that there? I had to read the sub titles to understand what some of them were saying I haven't seen the show Fez, but if they are working in the swamps, they are most likely Cagins. They are a group of people origionally from Canada that came to the southern swamps way back when the French and English were fighting over Canada. They have pretty much kept their traditions and that language you hear migrated from speaking French as I understand it. They are an interesting part of the Southers part our country and it's evolvement into what we are today. All of them that I know personally are really good natured folks. Work hard, play harder, enjoy life and celebrate someone's trip to heaven.

I've worked with Cajins in Oklahoma. I didn't see the show myself, so mayb e he just heard some serious red neck talk.

When he said N.C. and talking funny, I immediately assumed he was referencing the native Appalachian dialect.
