Have you noticed that there seems to be a lack of righteousness among believers today?

Hi Zac I think your right. And the more time I spend getting to know and love God the easier it gets. We are sinners and the point being we in of ourselves can not overcome this. We need the help of Christ and the Holy Spirit. And yes it not only becomes natural it becomes desireable. Before I found the Lord or He grabbed me I thought a christian life would be boring. I had some hurdles to overcome but as He lifted me up to the challenge I became more enlightened and energized and amazed that God was actually removing these desires from me. I think we all develope a God conciense, also it would be called nudgings from the Holy Spirit. Ultimately we still have the choice to listen or ignore. The key is loving God and with that having the desire to please Him because of the love we feel for Him. Being a decent human being motivated by love becomes wonderful not disaplined. Sorry I'm rambling, this is probably my favorite subject. We could read scripture until we're blue in the face but if we never build that relationship and experience His love it is all uphill and more than likely we will backslide. Think of the length a person will go to when they first experience love outside of their family unit. That is what Christ askes of us, to keep that love alive and to go to the length that love inspires in us. Hope I'm making sense.

A truly devoted lover of Christ

We must become holy because G-d is Holy.  So many Christians run around saying, "I can do that.  I'm not under the law." or "I don't do that, I'm not under the law."  What about allowing G-d to make us in His image- the image of Holiness?

I have heard that the Christian never becomes sinless but that as we grow in our relationship to the Lord we sin less.  :read:

The followers fo The Way (Early followers of Christ) were first called Christians (which means Christ like) in the city of Antioch.  I think this is something we all strive for, to be like Him though we sometimes fall short. :read:

And I might add God will make us Holy in His image if we are willing. Lan that was a good way to put that, have you noticed how you just slipped into living with less sin. Or at least I did. My desire to sin became less the closer I became to God, now much of it repulses me. I used to spend alot of time in the seedier part of the world. On occassion, weddings and such I have had to go to a bar, I get through it and I say it that way because the whole time I'm there I don't feel like I belong. I feel like an alien. I could never go back to that life style. I do not take credit for the lack of desire for that life style because there was a time I couldn't live without it. God took that desire away from me and replaced it with yuk. He opened my eyes to the emptiness it holds. Thats just one example and God had quite the job to do with me when I first gave myself to Him. What amazes me to this day is how hard I tried to do it myself for years and He just cleaned things up neatly in no time flat. I'm not kidding, some people from my past have accused me of having a brain transplant, I am so completely different now.

Love in Christ

Eph writes...

Problem is the Lord only has failures to choose from down here...! He's not worried about YOUR performance anyhow..He only looks at his SON'S performance..! So don't get hung up on your "short fallings'...!

So.....we can do whatever we feel in our heart is OK with God?

Or need we look to the instruction booklet on "How to be a Christian"?(bible)

Or do we ignore it? Cause of grace? :read:

So Eph....what's it gotta be?

Carl,

I don't think that's what he ment.

As a Christian God does look to us trough the eyes of His Son and He does see us without sin (forgiven) if we have accepted Jesus as our Savior.

I agree with Terry, that we have to be willing to let Him change us and we have to surrender ALL the time.

How more and how closer we come to Him how more sin will bother us , the Holy Spirit will convict us. If the Holy Spirit does not convict us from sin then there is something wrong in our relationship with God.

Remember what Paul said about sin?

Solong we live in this body we will sin, but we have a Heavenly Father who will forgive us when we repent and ask Him to forgive us.

I can relate to the current lack of righteousness (that should be manifest through Jesus Christ).

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
