Being ignorant in a field you have no experience or specialized training in isn't anything to be ashamed of, but if you want to coherently discuss these issues and avoid being fooled by charlatans such as the creators of this model you're going to need to do some work. As I've said before, you don't need to believe evolution to understand it, but you do need to understand it before you can try to argue against it. The same goes for pretty much every other scientific theory.

The only thing a Christian on this board needs to understand is who and what you are......you've been wasting your time here for about two years now; why bother?

I have no knowledge of such things. I only believe what the Scripture says, and I fought against all of this even in school when it was taught to me. BTW, I read where Darwin, on his death bed, repented of teaching this stuff and acknowledged that the world was formed by a Creator who's name is YHWH. After all, Darwin was originally a graduate of a seminary, which one I don't remember. It was nice to see him come back to the faith he shunned when he wrote this stuff.

I read the Bible every day. You seem to be either trying to insinuate that because I understand science I can't be a Christian or that the Bible offers insights into biology and geology which rival modern scientific understanding in these fields. Tragically (for you at least), neither is accurate. Have you considered either addressing my criticisms of the OP or simply not commenting? It's obvious that the inability of YEC's to honestly present evidence for a young earth bothers you, but I don't see why I should have to be the vent for your frustration when you have nothing of actual substance to say.

I do believe in evolution up to a point also......if it bothers you that I don't agree with you, or think you're some kind of scientific expert, then all I can say is.....oh well. Point one: I am not stupid. Stop insinuating that I am.

Point two: this is a CHRISTIAN board---please tell me why we have people here who clearly do NOT believe in the inerrancy of the Scriptures, nor in the fact that the Hebrew nation has been around for 5,771 years and can document every single one of those years. That in itself smacks of bigotry and anti-Semitism.

Point three: Intelligent design makes a LOT more sense than coming up out of some ooze somewhere in the galaxy. Or some sort of a "Big Bang". In order to have the symmetry of the world, there HAS to be some sort of a Creator that brought it out into order from chaos.

Final point: Those who believe in evolution just aren't seeing the bigger picture. Do you believe that there's life somewhere in "outer space"??? How about different dimensions??? If you believe both, guess what---you believe in a Heaven and a Hell. You are DENYING the very ONE who created you. There is no primordial soup. There IS a Creator. He is KING over the universe and at the end of days, HE WILL DENY YOU AND SEND YOU TO EVERLASTING TORMENT.

OK, so out of this primordial soup came man and every species of life on earth. Which came first male or female or together? I'm assuming they popped out together or one of them would have to wait hundreds of years to mate. What did the carnivores eat? Did they hang out at the soup and eat up a millions other species that could inhabit this planet. Which came first the chicken or the egg? Thank goodness fish came after man. If fish would have formed first there would be no life on this planet but fish. Why does all these species mate with their own kind? What did the plant eaters eat as stuff was oozing out? Did plants come from this soup also, No couldn't't have. There would have to be a lot bowls of soup everywhere. Maybe seeds fell from heaven, oops no heaven. Abiogenesis??? Scientists are still scratching their heads over this theory.

I would suggest you look up some things about evolution before you talk too much about it online. Not to be mean, but your understanding of evolution and abiogenesis is severely lacking. For starters, and to tackle one of the most common misconceptions, evolution happens at the population level and not at the individual level; individuals don't evolve, only populations do. You are not going to get a lone carnivore, rather entire populations of carnivores that live in an entire ecosystem among entire other populations and species. Another thing to notice is that evolution (as a general rule) works with small changes over long periods of time. So nothing in evolution allows "soup" or one kind of creature to pop out something completely different. Your scenarios are either explained in evolution or are straw-man versions of evolution/abiogenesis.

In terms of abiogenesis scientists have made significant progress and are progressing more and more all the time. One of the easiest things to make is a simple cell membrane (drop some lipids in water, essentially). Scientists have synthesized the 4/5 bases of DNA/RNA abiotically. If you're really interested look for a video on youtube by cdk007, "The Origin of Life - Abiogenesis - Dr. Jack Szostak".

Just thought of something. Maybe the soup was intelligent and put all the species out at the proper time. You athiests have an extremely strong faith in your religion.

What about people who accept both evolution and Christianity? About half of scientists are like this, and the Clergy Letter Project has the signatures of thousands of Christian clergy that accept evolution? Evolution is hardly atheistic.

I admit it's been 35years since I was taught the theory. Up until two years ago I believed this stuff. It's a shame that the schools didn't offer other theories (ID). I believe the bible and God's word on creation. The bible has proven truth to me in many ways and also by observing empirical evidence of prophetic scriptures. Scientists are grasping at straws to prove their religion. I looked up abiogenesis and found. (nothing!)

I think there is a lot of confusion when it comes to science and faith. Many Christians think that theistic evolution is different than atheistic evolution. The problem with that thinking is that such is not the case on a scientific level, making theistic evolutionists sounding exactly like atheistic evolutionists. It isn't really surprising, theistic gravity (hopefully) is the same as atheistic gravity on a scientific level like many other findings of science. The problem comes when science starts talking about things that contradict a persons understanding of the Bible, God and our place in the cosmos. When this happens you basically have 3 options; either science is wrong, scripture is wrong, or your understanding of scripture is wrong/not complete.
