and what message are you preaching bill?

I am very sorry to see that you failed to grasp the context. There are a couple of minor points but the striking issue is that if you are saved you are being constantly infilled with the Holy Spirit. If any other condition exists, you will be one of those entering the wide gate and you do not want to go there. While I am not attempting to judge your state of salvation over the Internet, lost or saved, I am asking you to give yourself a Spiritual Check-up.

Bill, don't forget that people are at different places in their walk. Who are we to determine who is saved or not, over the internet or in person? Are we God now because He lives in us? No, we are just a vessel for the King to use. We can not know another persons heart. Be careful how far you push the Holiness line on those who are less mature in Him. A baby needs to learn how to crawl before the child can walk, and walk before the child can run.

If I understand the message correctly, what it comes down to is that each and every day, as a Christian, I can choose to live my life led by the Spirit, and therefore I won't fulfil the lust of the flesh, or I can choose to do my own thing. The Spirit filled life is the straight and narrow way that leads to life, and doing my own thing, or following after the desires of the flesh is the broad road to destruction. Even as a Christian, the choice is still mine to make day in and day out. Is that pretty much it? :noidea:

That nails it, pretty much on the head. The only qualifier I use for this is that those that walk away, were never saved.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever. 1 John 2:15-17

Believe

Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:29

Or

Little children, it is the last time: and as ye have heard that antichrist shall come, even now are there many antichrists; whereby we know that it is the last time. 1 John 2:18

Or

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. Hebrews 11:6

Not

They went out from us, but they were not of us; for if they had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us: but they went out, that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us. 1 John 2:19

See?

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him. John 3:35-36

What about the person that doesn't fully walk away, but refuses to be led of the Spirit? What about the Christian that continues to walk after the flesh? Would you say they were never really saved? When you used the terminology "walk away," that paints a picture of someone completely turning away from God and renouncing their Christianity.

The scriptures teach us that you cannot serve two masters. This is a very unpopular teaching but popularity does not create truth any more than the lack of it creates a lie.

So, because we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit when we are saved we have a choice to make, we can follow His leading or, because God is not a cosmic bully, as some have suggested, we can deny Him and not be saved but still call ourselves Christian and no matter the good works we perform, work ourselves into Hell.

I would like to address this quote into three parts!

So, because we are indwelt by the Holy Spirit when we are saved we have a choice to make
If salvation is not of works but by believing by faith in Christ's redemptive work and God's promised Word "Thou shalt be saved" ... these are the indwelt of the Holy Spirit and this is an eternal promise for those...

God will assure you outside of yourself into yourself. It will not just come from internal only like reasoning of works I do this and that so I am saved...

It will through happenstance outside and the witness inside says see I am here with you! This will always result in realized credit to God who did it through you...

Rom 8:16-17

16 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God,

NKJV

The saved that have had this witness of God's Holy Spirit have this promise-

Rom 8:38-39

38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

NKJV [note: many have attempted to take themselves from this list but in truth this is the entirety of creation under God...]

Based on this above Paul speaks again by what this truth delivers to the Children of God-

Eph 3:8-12

8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

NKJV

2 Tim 1:12

12 For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.

NKJV

Heb 6:11-12

11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,

NKJV

Heb 6:19

19 This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil

NKJV

In all this above Paul speaks of a choice already made and His full non wavering assurance was- *all was kept by God until the end into the beginning*...

, we can follow His leading or, because God is not a cosmic bully, as some have suggested, we can deny Him

This Scripture must be reasoned here due to the fact his work burns up [for it was his own and not the Spirits] yet he will be saved by the same fire of testing-

1 Cor 3:15

15 If anyone's work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire.

NKJV

Yet these screamed works and all perish for neither them or their works were of the Spirit-

Matt 7:21-23

21 "Not everyone who says to Me, 'Lord, Lord,' shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven. 22 Many will say to Me in that day, 'Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?' 23 And then I will declare to them, 'I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!'

NKJV

Not even the one's who resisted fornication or adultery [speaking outwardly committed (virgins)] no one has but Christ mental moral virginity...

Matt 25:11-12

11 "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' 12 But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.'

NKJV

call ourselves Christian and no matter the good works we perform, work ourselves into Hell

yep! Our own internal witness and effort is a fake but the Holy Spirit's witness both of the witness without and His testifying of such within:

Others will see our fruit and be built up by that sight and give witness to such! Things will occur in accordance to your prayers and The Spirit within will testify to God's hearing you and answering you. You will read Scripture bound in Spiritual realities and The Spirit will say I have seen this in your life and you will rejoice in it's recognition...

Titus 3:5-7

5 not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

NKJV

I do not dissagree with you. I am just wondering if you are saying that a person walking the broad road was never really saved, or if you are saying that a Christian that refuses to be led by the Spirit will wind up losing their salvation? :noidea: It is not a trick question. I am just trying to figure out where you are coming from? :noidea:

I agree that it is not a trick question, it is, rather, Berean like. What I am saying is that they were never saved. A saved person can quench the Spirit but in the end (that hated unknown period of time) the Spirit will win out with the saved and they will have just damaged their rewards in Heaven. this is a vastly ignored subject because it runs so many away from the church because they do not wish to hear, solid, biblically base teaching. It all boils down to numbers today and if a churches numbers are not satisfactory, none are pleased.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
