If you use that verse to say we won't have wings, why not? It makes as much sense to me, really.

Sigh.

It's stupid to argue this.

If the issue is about having an experience "that removes faith," then what is to be said for the Muslims who become Christians claiming they had dreams and visions of Jesus appearing to them?

And if you believe these testimonies are all fake or false, then please just say the person is a liar or demonically influenced.

But it really isn't worth losing peace over or getting angry over or tired over.

So I'm quitting this debate.

I'm starting a new topic on this because maybe I will learn something that I don't know already. From another thread:

Where in the Bible does it say we can die, see heaven or hell and then return?

2 Corinthians 12:2

I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knoweth;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

John 11:43

And when he thus had spoken, he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth.

Did Lazarus die, see heaven then come back to talk about it in depth? I'm a bit confused by the scriptures above.

Is it possible for people to die, see heaven or hell, and then return to tell their stories? I've always been very skeptical about this kind of stuff. To be quite honest, I don't really believe it. Maybe you can change my mind or point me to further scripture? I won't say it's not possible because anything is possible with God. What are your thoughts on this subject?

Blessings.

If It Points To Christ

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 2 Corinthians 12:9

It Is Good

When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. John 11:4

Yes?

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:17

So If The Folks Involved Are Giving All Glory To God

Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the Spirit of God calleth Jesus accursed: and that no man can say that Jesus is the Lord, but by the Holy Ghost. 1 Corinthians 12:3

Celebrate The LORD Jesus Christ

Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Psalms 103:1

Hallelujah~!

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

So - does anyone question whether or not someone has been brought back from the dead? Or just that they "saw" something while dead?

Did God make a mistake when Lazarus died? (just asking)

And we know, from scripture, that while yet alive some have seen glimpses into the kingdom - into the spiritual realm.

And Amen FresnoJoe!

I personally don't question people being brought back to life, we see it in the news all the time, what I question is people who say they've been to heaven or hell and back.

Catching a glimpse of the spiritual kingdom is not the same as being there.

If people want to believe this stuff, that's fine with me, I'm not saying they shouldn't or can't. I got my own walk to walk. I believe by faith, I don't need proof.

It's Not Unusual

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 1 Peter 4:12-14

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you. Matthew 5:10-12

The Truth About The Lie

And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2 Thessalonians 2:11-23

And About The Believer

But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2 Thessalonians 1:13-14

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. John 6:47

You See

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. Romans 8:1

 Spot on man we are the children of God right now on this earth but it hasn't been made known to us what we are going to be but whenever the Lord comes in the clouds and we are caught up to be with him we are going to be like him. Meaning that we will have a resurrected glorified body as this mortality shall put on immortality as we too shall be like Christ who made it possible for us also to triump over death hell and the grave and it is in this way we shall be like him resurrected in a glorified body that shall never see death again as death will be swallowed up in victory the last enemy we'll have to face.

The only way to get to the afterlife will be through death as it is appointed once for man to die after that the resurrection. Absolutely no returning back after death to tell what is in heaven or of the horrors of hell. The claim that God took them to heaven or hell and brought them back again is not scriptural. Everlasting life we shall live out forever in a glorified body with Christ in all of His glory.

Just a question for you OC. You state that God taking someone to heaven or hell and bringing them back is not scriptural. What do you say concerning the Apostle Paul? Is it your contention that it is just not Biblical when it comes to after death experiences? :noidea:

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
