Then of course there is Jesus Freak....but I am not sure if this counts as a "Praise" song.

[What will people think

When they hear that I'm a Jesus Freak?

What will people do

When they find that's it's true?]

Separated, I cut myself clean

From a past that comes back in my darkest of dreams

Been apprehended by a spiritual force

And a grace that replaced all the me I've divorced

I saw a man with tattoo on his big fat belly

It wriggled around like marmalade jelly

It took me a while to catch what it said

Cause I had to match the rhythm

Of his belly with my head

'Jesus Saves' is what it raved in a typical tattoo green

He stood on a box in the middle of the city

And claimed he had a dream

(chorus)

What will people think

When they hear that I'm a Jesus freak

What will people do when they find that it's true

I don't really care if they label me a Jesus freak

There ain't no disguising the truth

Kamikaze, my death is gain

I've been marked by my Maker

A peculiar display

The high and lofty, they see me as weak

Cause I won't live and die for the power they seek

There was a man from the desert with naps in his head

The sand that he walked was also his bed

The words that he spoke made the people assume

There wasn't too much left in the upper room

With skins on his back and hair on his face

They thought he was strange by the locusts he ate

The Pharisees tripped when they heard him speak

Until the king took the head of this Jesus freak

(repeat chorus 2x)

People say I'm strange, does it make me a stranger

My best friend was born in a manger

People say I'm strange, does it make me a stranger

That my best friend was born in a manger

(repeat chorus 2x)

What will people think

[What will people think]

What will people do

[What will people do]

I don't really care

[What else can I say]

There ain't no disguising the truth

[Jesus is the way]

Aren't they reufrring to John in that verse in Green? I never realized until now, but they are talking about Jesus ...freaks.......LOL so John was a Jesus freak, and the guy with the tatoo is a Jesus Freak.

Are you a Jesus Freak?

yeah and Toby is too. check it out, click here :emot-questioned:

I did not know that Toby Mac was the guy in dc Talk, you learn new things every day!

Another group I like is Kutless, their song Sea of Faces.

I see the city lights all around me

Everyone's obscure

Ten million people each with their problems

Why should anyone care

And in Your eyes I can see

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world

Lost in a Sea of Faces

Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine

Because you traded Your life for mine

Sometimes my life it feels so trivial

Immersed in the greatness of space

Yet somehow you still find the time for me

It's then You show me Your love

And In Your eyes I can see

And in Your arms I will be

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world

Lost in a Sea of Faces

Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine

Because you traded Your life for mine

If only my one heart

Was all you'd gain from all it cost

Well I know you would have still been a man

With a reason

To willingly offer your life

I am not just a man, vastly lost in this world

Lost in a Sea of Faces

Your body's the bread, Your blood is the wine

Because you traded Your life for mine

Just one in a million faces

I love those songs that bring the focus back to Jesus, that put our worth in Him. It is so easy to hate yourself, and to not like anything about you, but when you ARE HIS, and when you are the one that Jesus died for; he'd have died only for you! Just for you. then it really brings back perspective. and makes me want to praise Him even harder. Because without him, I am nothing, without him, I am just lost in a sea of faces.

MercyMe

Here With Me

I long for your embrace

Every single day

To meet you in this place

And see you face to face

Will you show me?

Reveal yourself to me

Because of your mercy

I fall down on my knees

And I can feel your presence here with me

Suddenly I

That's so awesome Beth and you are so right. We are nothing without Jesus! It blows my mind He would die for me. I sit and shake my head, so unworthy. I love Him so... :emot-questioned:

Here are three praise songs that I have been listening alot to lately:

To deserve...

Create in me a clean heart and renew a right spirit within me.

Cast me not away, oh Lord, and take not thy Holy Spirit from me.

With my hands lifted high

I will praise you as King.

For what have I done to deserve a love like Your's?

And with our voices lifted high

We proclaim you as King

And what have we done to deserve a love like Your's?

Show Your Glory

We need revival, moved by Your Spirit.

A new anointing,

A fresh outpouring.

Open the doors of heaven,

Rain down a new anoiting.

Spirit of Holiness, we invite You in this place.

Holy Spirit, show Your glory.

Demonstrate Your power once again.

We need Your power.

Send down Your fire.

A new beginning,

A fresh outpouring.

Open the doors to heaven,

Rain down a new anointing.

Spirit of Holiness, we invite You in this place.

Lord, we're crying...

Holy Spirit, show Your glory.

Demonstrate Your power once again.

Shout

Shout with a voice of triumph!

Shout with a voice of praise!

Shout unto God for the victory!

Hey, give the Lord a shout of praise, hey!

Triumphant in battle, we are victorious!

God is most high over all the earth!

Jesus has conquered!

Satan's defeated!

The enemy is under our feet!

Shout for the victory!

Shout if you've been set free!

Shout!

(that one really get's me excited and dancin!

IS that Jeremy Camp sis????

I also love:

"Holy Fire burn away my desires and anything that is not of you, but is of me, I want more of you and less of me, empty me."

And.

Give us clean hands, give us pure hearts, let us not lift our souls to another, OH God let us be a generation that seeks, seeks your face Oh God of Jacob.

and. LoL, this one may sound weird, but take in mind it is rap.

Every time I turn my back I get the feeling that

I'm 'bout to take a shot to the skully with a bat

I'm out of control, need you to fill my soul up

And could you shed a little light on the skeletons holed up

My past is taking me to task

And I can't guarantee how much longer I'll last

Without You I'm a hopeless wreck

So I cry out Your name as I drop to the deck

Don't get me started, don't even get me started

Don't get me started, don't even get me started

Don't get me started, don't even get me started

Don't get me started, don't even get me started

I'm Yours

Take me as I am

I'm Yours

So take this space between us and fill it up again

I'm Yours

Take me as I am

I'm Yours

So won't you take this space between us and fill it up again

(Theres more to it, but I love the first verse) I scream it so loud, and rock my head , I love this song. Cause i am HIS! yeah dawg!

Open the flood gates of heaven

let it rain

let it rain

Open the flood gates of heaven

let it rain

***Sings******

We went to this awesome prayer meeting for our city quite a few months ago. They had shofars, and kids on tambourines, any way it was so cool. Many of the Christians were together singing praise to God, and then we divided up into the four corners of the city and prayed for our city and our churches.

But they sang this song and it was so awesome!!!!! People with their arms stretched toward heaven pleading for God to open the flood gates of heaven and let His Holy Spirit rain down on us, his love, his joy, peace, freedom, forgiveness, LET it rain Lord!!!!! let it rain!!!!!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
