The Apostle Paul moved us from doing what man says to doing what God says. Some people cannot stand the liberty of being free. It is like a sick person in which there is a cure yet they preferr to stay put. Everyone that wants to be free in God will have to grow in the knowledge of Christ by hearing God's voice. I admit I cant fully explain that. Hearing God's voice is knowing about God's influence in your life and acting on it.

Paul moved the New Body of Christ from being meeting oriented to being relationship oriented. I used to think big meetings showed forth God, as a young Evangelist I thought it was only the size of the crowd that brought forth the glory of God.

When I began to understand the Christ-Life, i did not see large crowds anymore, God really had to deal with me. Finally , I saw that the Apostle Paul was moving the believer from outer things to inner things, no longer thinking that success is measured by the great external things God does for us.

You become relationship-oriented, and you understand that your relationship with others is based upon the fact that all born again believerd have the same Father.

I don't get how the Apostle Paul was the first to state this and how being part of the Corporate Body negates this.

Here's Abraham having a relationship with God;

Ge 12:1

¶ Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get you out of your country, and from your kindred, and from your father's house, unto a land that I will show you:

Ge 12:2

And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing:

Ge 12:3

And I will bless them that bless you, and curse him that curses you: and in you shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Ge 12:4

¶ So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

Meanwhile, Paul states this;

Php 3:17

¶ Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them who so walk, since you have us for an example.

He said this after detailing Christ as his example;

Php 2:5

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Php 2:6

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not a thing to be grasped to be equal with God:

Php 2:7

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Php 2:8

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Paul say's; "Follow me as I follow Christ!"

"Deny yourself!"

Peace,

Dave

Paul did not move anyone to do anything, he spoke out against those who were telling the newly converted pagan gentiles that circumcision was the only way one could become part of corporate Israel, the only way to be saved. By adding man made laws negates the fact that it has always been and will always be Faith that brings us into the body of Messiah. We are to have a personal relationship with Him, that has never changed after all Abraham wasnt part of an assembly but certainly he was brought into salvation by His faith. Yet we also see a corporate body of Yeshua's, and when He returns there is but one bride not millions, we will be one body with one King and Savior with His set of instructions written on our hearts. Paul was not moving people away from the body but showing the freedom we have in Messiah not to get caught up in some idea that physically doing anything, nor through man made laws and practices, does salvation come. Being part of a fellowship is important believe me I know how that if at all possible one should meet with like minded people and come together to worship, praise and learn His truths.

The Apostle Paul moved us ...

:hmmm:

"Has Christ been divided ? Paul was not crucified for you, was he? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul ?" (1 Cor. 1:13)

Why are you exalting Paul above the Holy Spirit?

Nixing the emphasis off of the Lord's servant Paul and onto the Lord Himself -

I believe you are partially correct. Yes, we are to be relationship-oriented. However, as Dave pointed out, it has always been that way. All the great men and women of faith in the Scriptures had a personal relationship with the Lord.

But the Lord also meets us corporately. After all, how can we be a Body as individuals?

We are not to cease meeting together, as it is written in Hebrews.

But where I will agree with you is that the focus should not be the meeting but the members within said meeting.

Like wise, i can stand a good run through the scriptures but i dont think we are on same page. So far its been "that isnt so" type of rebuttal. So far our feelings are mutual. Ill try to not judge others posts but seems to me its the college educated "speach and debate class" type rebuttal that Im really not intetested in.

Ill ask one thing if you care to discuss, do you believe that what you know is all there is to know.

I am not understanding what you are expecting.

This is what we do on the message board, critique each other's thoughts.

Are you above having your thoughts critiqued?

Ill ask one thing if you care to discuss, do you believe that what you know is all there is to know.

No, but that doesn't mean I'm not supposed to evaluate any new knowledge someone presents. A lot of misdirected "truths" are out there.

We are told in the bible to be Berean. To compare the words of any man to scripture. If you look in the new testament, you will see that the Bereans looked at the words of Paul, critiqued them by comparing what he said to what scripture says. For that, they were praised by Paul.

That is what folks do on this forum. Hopefully all believers do this.

Hey look you guys have no idea what a berean is, we have different understanding cant you leave it at that. I am going to post and start threads I am not really interested in your opinion. The only way you know how to interact is by hijacking a thread, if you are christians why dont you consider a fact, does this glorify the Father. If not leave it alone, there is plenty of positive feed back to not have to go back and forth.

There are thread starters all through here that love your type of action meet with them, Im not one of them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
