What Do You Look For In A President?

listening to past scratchy recordings of presidents has always amazed me in how honest they were when addressing an issue in current events. I believe any of us under 55 years of age at least have never experienced honesty from a president concerning the truth of what is really happening today. Propaganda for an economic empire that has landed us in an immoral, manna worshiping mess.

So I would say clear cut honesty would be wonderful but the sad thing is they would never make it to the podium.

Well I'll correct that a bit, I think Carter tried but look where that got him. He gave back the Panama canal, that went over big.

I wouldn't put my vote on Carter again... I lived thru that one and now we have another one that is taking our country down. We, as Christians, need to pray that God will set up men who will follow His Teachings. I am going to attach a quote from an article that tells what Col Allen West said:

"Allen West (R-FL) said at town hall meeting last night that he thinks up to 80 Democratic congressmen who are members of the Communist Party. The entire House Democratic Caucus is 190 members, so West is claiming that almost half are card-carrying Communists. Not surprisingly, he would not name names."

Communist do not honor God!!

We need to replace those in the deomocratic party so our next republican president can correct all the screw ups' of Mr. Obama. We need to get rid of this "grid lock." Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi needs to go for starters. Please put your prayers behind your vote.

There are so many qualities or things that each of us do not like about canidates....so I ask you...

What do you look for in a canidate?

What would you like to see in a President?

;A person who is intelligent to understand what is best for "We the People" in the long run, and who is strong enough to fight to accpmplish those things even at his/her expense.

Many of the things that need to be done for this nation are not going to be popular with most of us..... but for the sake of everyone they do need to be done. some of those things are crossing very high powers that be and are personally dangerous for the people who cross them.

Oh ya I would never vote for a Carter. I'm just saying he took a shot at being honest in an atmosphere increasingly growing in dishonesty.

Yes, Jesus does save (not the cross, lol). We have to live on earth until Jesus returns, therefore we need to pray for our leaders that will honor and serve the Lord.

I hope we all will vote this November. Many think they can't vote due to not registering.

My voter register card expired in December of last year so I applied for a new one for my wife and me several months ago. Several months went by so I called the department that handles this here in Texas and told them I had not received my voter registration card yet. They told me I should receive it before the end of July. I asked them “what if I don’t receive it?” They said “when it’s time to vote, just go and give them your name and show ID and you will still be able to vote.”

Maybe for those who are worried about not having a registration card this will apply to them also? It may depend on your state. If you can apply for the proper card NOW.

I want someone who will defend and uphold the Constitution according to original intent, which means he or she will nominate judges that are originalists to the courts. The President needs to be willing to keep spending under control, and that means insisting on a balanced budget. The President has to be concerned with keeping us safe, which means a strong military. The President has to stand with Israel. I want a President who is willing to acknowledge God and someone who is pro-life and pro-traditional family. That is what I want, but I will settle for someone who is not Obama.

I agree with most of what you have said. Can share nearly all your sentiments. Just not so sure about the settling for someone as long as it is not Obama. Do not like Obama or his ideals so he will assuredly not have my vote...but just not sure about casting my vote against someone just because he is the best opposition.

Will surely be praying for this election. It has been one of the ugliest yet.

Someone who will help make life better. Like everyone else, I have my own issues, my own concerns. I may not have the same things in common with someone else, and that seems to be how the system works: compromises among a variety of competing interests.

So the axoim of "Where a man stands on an issue depends on where he sits" seems quite true.

I'm not a one issue voter. There isn't one thing that disqualifies a person in my opinion. On the other hand, each candidate has certain things I don't necessarily like.

I was supporting Rick Santorum. He was the only candidate in the race I really liked that was left standing. I am still angry at the way he was unfairly attacked during the campaign, and it was hard to switch my allegance to Mitt Romney. I will still likely vote for Santorum in the Primary? At the same time, Romney has won each primary fair and square. Yes, he is the choice of the establishment, but he is only ahead because of real votes by real people. Nobody made Santorum get out of the race. He looked at the writing on the wall, and got out. The way I see it, Romney is the only person standing between the American people and 4 more years of Obama. As such, I am a Romney supporter. It was very difficult changing my Santorum sign to Romney on the back of my car, but it is getting easier to support Romney than it was a few days ago.
