It used to be at one time (and probably is still so today) that to attack the embassy of a foreign power was considered an act of war. Inasmuch as both Libya and Egypt have done so, Congress should be in session calling for a state of war.

Yes against Libya, no against Egypt. Why one and not the other? Because the Egyptians have put riot police out to stop the incidents, they are making an effort to control their radicals. Libya is not. A few bombs should put them straight and let the rest of the world know that the USA will not tolerate this conduct.

Religion of peace my tukhus.

Peace and islam are like oil and water, for sure. But the answer is not simply 'bomb them'. Bomb who? The Middle East is on the verge of all out war; we simply can't just go in and take out the radicals. For one thing, they're ALL radicals and, for another, if that region blows sky high, Israel will be the first casualty. Boots on the ground in yet another war? It's not feasible right now. So....what do we do?

Go play golf and schedule an appearance on Letterman. Put the blame on Israel. Restrict the rights of christians and expand the influence of Islam.

Gee, there are so many things our President could do...

I wouldn't expect a lady to understand (no offense here) how to deal with this; they are not generally trained in the art of war. We have a multitude of options. The best one for this particular incident is the submarine launched cruise missile with a Fuel Air Explosive warhead. Launch 2 or 3 each into Bengazi and Tripoli, then issue a statement: Do it again, we'll send more. Leave us alone and the matter is resolved.

If you don't stand up to a bully, they will keep bullying you.

No offense? Gee, I can't see how the bolded sentence isn't patronizing......to the nth degree. Whatever, I understand war; never fought one but I DO understand it. Your premise is flawed, B.B.; the islamists don't care about collateral or property losses, they WANT to be martyred for their 'allah' and, as I said, Israel would bear the brunt of the fallout. Remember, Clinton tried the 'Cruise missile from afar' strategy in the 1990s; rather than deter the islamists, it paved the way for 9/11.

War is diplomacy carried out by other means. When all else fails, war is the last option.

When going to war, one must deliver a blow SO HARD that the enemy will be unable to respond to it by any means at all. Knock him down and keep him there, put plain and simply. We used to have an expression: Make 'em say uncle. They don't care about collateral or property losses? HAH! If they don't care, then why do they pander to the cameras every time they get slapped around by some country they've poked in the stomach with their little sharp stick? Give them enough to care about, they'll say uncle.

They are a 'macho' culture. They respect manliness. If we respond like men, then we will gain their respect. Grudgingly? Probably, but we will have it nonetheless. If we respond in an unmanly fashion, they will do this whenever they feel like it. America needs to be more manly and throw off this sissy culture we've been wrapping ourselves in.

As I said they don't care about losses; the pandering to the cameras is PR, part of the geopolitical quest of world domination. Btw, your gender bias is showing big time...... :bored-1:

It's not gender bias; I was taught that men handle some things and ladies others. This is a military thing, men handle that (with the occasional exception.)

What has Mr. Obama done? He's sent 50 Marines to 'secure' the consulate. WHAT CONSULATE? They burned it to the ground. This from Fox News:

A team of about 50 Marines has been dispatched to the Libyan city of Benghazi to secure the U.S. Consulate after attacks Tuesday left four Americans dead including the U.S. ambassador, a senior U.S. military official told Fox News.

The official said a Marine "fast team" is being sent from the U.S. Naval base in Rota, Spain. They are not yet on the ground.

The move comes after President Obama ordered "all necessary resources" provided to Libya to support the security of U.S. personnel in the country.

In a statement, Obama also said he's directed his administration to "increase security at our diplomatic posts around the globe."

Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens and three other American staff members were killed in the attacks Tuesday.

U.S. posts are on alert amid protests, so far in Libya and Egypt, over a film that ridiculed Islam's Prophet Muhammad.

The senior military official clarified Wednesday that despite some reports, no Marines were killed in the Tuesday attack. The military, the source said, has not been asked by the State Department to assist with any evacuations.

Now Obama has gone ahead and given 'all necessary resources' to Libya to support US personnel in the country? If that wasn't so sad, it would be laughable. That makes sense. These people attack us, let's give them resources to support our personnel. How do you spell resources: M O N E Y. We gave Pakistan all resources necessary to assist us in the war on terror. They hid Bin Laden under our noses and laughed at us behind our backs.

We can't afford four more years of this. We can't afford four more MINUTES of it.

I'm going to have to agree with Morning Glory, here, on a few points. First, suggesting that we women can't really "get" the idea of war because we're female is a very assinine statement. We women understand these aspects just fine. Generally speaking, I'm a advocate for the kinds of tactics BB has been advocating. I think many of our failings in the war arena have stemmed from a lack of committment to doing what was necessary. We've become so influenced by liberal screaming about the loss of innocent lives during war actions that we're trying to tip-toe our way through combat. It started with Vietnam and has only gotten worse since then. It's time the American public get over the idea that, somehow, no one is supposed to die in war.

Having said that, my initial instinct, despite being a woman :whistling: , is that we need to hit the Mid-East hard to make the point that we WILL defend ourselves. But I also believe that Morning Glory is correct and that such actions wouldn't do much to deter the Muslims. They are taught from infancy that dying for their beliefs is pretty much the only way to guarantee admission to their idea of paradise. They would celebrate being killed by the country they hate almost as much as Israel, and they would turn it into a rallying cry to whip up even more hatred against us. Conventional warfare just isn't going to work in this case.

On the other hand, as a step toward answering what we should do, I think we absolutely should cease all financial aid to every Muslim nation that refuses to acknowledge Israel's right to existance. Every Muslim nation that continues to harbor, shield, foster, and/or support radical groups should be openly condemned and denied all aid. We should issue a definitive statement in support of Israel, including a committment to defend them as an ally and to declare war on any nation that attacks them. And not war as it is fought today, but war as it should be fought, meaning we wipe entire nations off the face of the planet from afar.

We've become absurdly soft when it comes to the reality of war. We want no one to get hurt. We want no innocent to get so much as a scratch. We want no member of our military to get hurt or killed. Well, that's just not how it works. As I've said multiple times before in similar discussions, "War is hell," is not just some cliche. It's the reality and should never be entered into lightly, but once it is begun, it should be carried out with ruthless lethality until the opposition loses all desire to continue. The Muslims seem to have this figured out and so far, they're succeeding.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
