Jehovah God is certainly in full control of His creative order including the trembling Middle East. He sets up & removes even an Arafat or a Hussein. The Muslim intifada will never succeed simply because Islam is attempting to annihilate God's ancient & prophetic people, the nation of Israel. The Jewish future is already predetermined by Jehovah: it's to be at the very HEAD of the nations, not at the tail (as today). Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat left his Muqata headquarters in the West Bank at about 7:20 this morning for the first time in more than two years, enroute to Paris for medical treatment. Jordanian helicopters transported Arafat from Ramallah to Amman. From there, he flew to Paris to be treated for suspected leukemia. Suha Arafat had arrived in Ramallah yesterday, to be with her ailing husband. She is flying with him to Paris, where she lives, and where he is going to be hospitalized.

Arafat boarded the Jordanian helicopter wearing an olive military greatcoat and a furry hat. As he was placed aboard the helicopter, scores of tearful bystanders, bodyguards and officials chanted, using his nom de guerre: "We will sacrifice our blood and souls for you, Abu Ammar."

Now that he is seriously ill, officials are more concerned about possible mayhem and anarchy that may follow, even if he stays alive but cannot function. Former Prime Minister Abu Mazen and current Prime Minister Ahmed Qureia (Abu Ala) are working together in the hope of preventing chaos in the functioning of the PA. PA spokesperson Hanan Ashrawi said, "I am concerned for Arafat's life." She added that she fears a bitter succession battle, "and even anarchy."

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak phoned Prime Minister Ariel Sharon last night to congratulate him on passing the Disengagement Plan in the Knesset. Mubarak also thanked Sharon for Israel's humanitarian gesture towards Yasser Arafat in allowing him to leave in order to seek medical treatment.

The Day After Arafat

The PA leadership is making preparations for "the day after", to try and ensure that whatever integrity the PA still has remains, and that public order is maintained. Abu Ala has agreed to support Abu Mazen as interim president if Arafat either dies or is permanently incapacitated, until new elections can be held.

Israel has rejected a Palestinian request to allow Arafat to be buried on the Temple Mount. The request itself indicates that there is little expectation within the PA that Arafat will recover.

Analysts are unsure what to make of the fact that he actually agreed to leave for Paris. Some believe it means that there is a reasonable chance he can recover with the aid of first class western medicine, others are saying he would never have agreed to leave Palestine unless he had to, a sign of just how serious his condition is.

If leukemia does prove to be the definitive diagnosis, it would certainly appear that his days are numbered.

Arafat is a tough old bird. I wouldn't count him out just yet. He is sneaky too, so don't assume that he is just sick. Maybe he is, but who can trust him or anything he is involved with

I'm not sure that I should post this, but here goes anyway. From a prophecy update I receive.

I first reported this in 2001, saying:

A reliable source told me of a pastor in New Zealand, with whom he has communicated, who had a vision and visitation from the Lord in November 2000. The Lord appeared to the pastor in the middle of the night and spoke to him, saying that He was coming "very, very soon." The pastor asked for a sign, and the Lord replied that the last sign before the rapture is that Arafat will be removed. As I have the story, the Lord did not say how Arafat will be removed, whether by natural causes or by assassination (by his own people or Israel) -- just that he will be removed.

I added in 2002:

This is an update on the New Zealand pastor and the removal of Arafat.

In August 2001, I reported the New Zealand pastor, Peter Kumar (from India), who said he had a revelation from the Lord in November 2000 that the "removal" of Arafat would be the last sign before the rapture. My source was Dr. Neil Lipkin, an orthodontist, long-time prophecy teacher, and dear brother in Christ, who had been in contact with Kumar. A later clarification was that there would be an undetermined period of turmoil after Arafat's removal and that during the turmoil the rapture would occur.

Today I received a pubic statement on this from Kumar's office in New Zealand (see below). It is more detailed than the original report, and also a little different and somewhat vague about the rapture. Actually, in this public statement, he does not mention the word "rapture," but instead uses "the coming of the Lord." However, I did check the year 2001 email from Kumar to Lipkin and he clearly used the word "rapture." I am only guessing but it could be that he did not use it in his public statement because it is a controversial subject and he did not want to stir up the fightin' posties. But obviously he believes in the rapture.

The bottom line from this new statement and after reviewing his past email statements, is that he does not necessarily see the rapture as immediately after Arafat's removal but at an undetermined time later, maybe days or months. He says, "The Lord then told me that soon he would remove Arafat and after he removes Arafat we will be able to see the works of the anti-christ." This does not necessarily mean a long time, but it could develop within days or even hours.

PA scrambles as Arafat slips into coma

The Palestinian Authority met in emergency session Thursday after Yasser Arafat reportedly slipped into a terminal coma at a military hospital outside of Paris.

Of particular concern to the PA was the vast stolen wealth Arafat has used to stay in power all these years, and to which he alone has access.
