I was watching a Television program that mentioned the estimated number of planets and stars in the Universe. It got me thinking: What do suppose is God's purpose for all of those planets out there? Do you think that one day they all be inhabited/ruled over by believers?

I claim Saturn! :P

Nooo. I plan on dancing on the rings of saturn.

:mgbowtie: Psa 82:1 A psalm of Asaph. God presides in the great assembly; he gives judgment among the "gods":

Psa 82:2 "How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?

Psa 82:3 Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

Psa 82:4 Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

Psa 82:5 "The 'gods' know nothing, they understand nothing. They walk about in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

Psa 82:6 "I said, 'You are "gods"; you are all sons of the Most High.'

Psa 82:7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler."

Psa 82:8 Rise up, O God, judge the earth, for all the nations are your inheritance.

I have a Theory, God made the Heavens and the Earth because He could and what ever happens, it will be to the Glory of GOD and not man. Man can not even rule over him self at this point time, maybe in a few hundred years or more we may wake up and smell the roses of Salvation and understand that it is not about us, it is about God.

I think we will,... in time.... be able to wonder the vastness of space as we wonder the oceans of the world.

Psa 82:7 But you will die like mere mortals; you will fall like every other ruler."

"I have said, ye are gods,.... In the law, Exodus 21:6 or they were so by his appointment and commission; he constituted them judges and magistrates, invested them with such an office, by which they came to have this title; see Romans 13:1, and so our Lord interprets these words, that they were gods "to whom" the word of God came, which gave them a commission and authority to exercise their office, John 10:35, or rather "against whom" it came, pronouncing the sentence of death on them, as in Psalm 82:7, to which the reference is; declaring, that though they were gods by office, yet were mortal men, and should die." - Gill's Exposition Of The Entire Bible

"I have said, Ye are gods - See the notes at Psalm 82:1. I have given you this title; I have conferred on you an appellation which indicates a greater nearness to God than any other which is bestowed on men - an appellation which implies that you are God's representatives on earth, and that your decision is, in an important sense, to be regarded as his.

And all of you are children of the Most High - Sons of God. That is, You occupy a rank which makes it proper that you should be regarded as his sons." - Barnes' Notes On The Bible

Any ideas? :noidea:

IMHO and that's all it is, the vastness of the universe is to humble us and to give us some idea how great God is. I believe God staged the war between Good and Evil in this physical realm to carry out the effect in the spirit realm as well as this realm. And though we have eternal consequences and effects in both realms, we are but tiny microscopic beings to this planet which is a tiny microscopic world in this solar system which is a tiny microscopic system in this galaxy which is a tiny microscopic galaxy in the cluster of galaxies which is a tiny microscopic community of galaxies in this universe which is only the physical realm created by our God and which will be destroyed in the day of the Lord.

When you find out how rare the earth is (just the right distance and balance for water to melt etc etc etc) I doubt there is any life out in the universe that there is few if any planets of the right balances for life out there (even the size of earth and shape of the revolution around the sun makes life possible). The universe is a system of radiation for prolonging this one world in its precarious balances for an extended period of time for the Gospel message to reach the last willing heart.

Heaven and earth will flee away from the face of Jesus (who is the Creator of it all [preincarnate] btw).

And a new heaven-earth will be created in the place of the heaven and earth that is passed away.

Um... "I have said ye are gods" is a reference to Moses being like unto God to pharaoh and Aaron like his prophet... metaphor

One which Jesus in John 10 to silence (stump) those who challenged his claims. In effect saying "if you cannot determine what this means...

you have no business challenging God in the flesh... in other words... shaddap!

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
