Colossians 3

20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is your acceptable duty in the Lord.

----my father,is the totally antitheist,he had listened sermons in his young age,but it seems GOD have never called him,he did not eccept JESUS with listening those sermons,he always think that antitheism is the most correct.

My grandma is a Christian for more than 30 years,she has told his sons how GOD answered her prayers,but my uncle’s comment is: coincidence;and my father is: foolish and blind faith of the old lady.

I have talked with my father my faith several times,but my dad always told me:do not believe any religion,these are all the deceiving matter creating by some clever guys.

He strongly objects me to take part in any religion.

Paul was speaking to the church. His message were to the children whose parents follow Christ. Jesus tells us about the division within the family because of Him.

Obeying your Father in the context of your Faith. If he told you to murder someone you would be exempt.

This portion of Paul's testimony comes from here;

Ex 20:12

¶ Honor your father and your mother: that your days may be long upon the land which the LORD your God gives you.

You'll note that there is no exemption there for their faith, their sobriety, their sanity, their attitude, etc.........

The exemption is when in doing so that it would violate your first relationship which is with God. You also do not have to honor violence or danger to your person.

You are witnessing to your father by honoring him. If you want to have a relationship with him you will have to tolerate his attitude about your faith and honor him by being his loving daughter.

We are to obey our parents as long as they don't try to force us to disobey God. The Bible says it is better to obey God than man.

So then the husband is not the head as long as his parents are alive - for then they are the head?
