Being a "cheerleader" does not mean she's a mindless bimbo. But do you not want your wife to build you up? To make you feel like a stud?

I'm with Barry on this one... a stud? sorry for interrupting...guess I've seen too many horses

I guess my dad really messed me up when he told me I could think for myself....I'm a terrible actor

ps: I'll say too...please don't be offended...I don't mean it that way...I have a different view on things from time to time

Right, sevenseas. My problem is probably my mother, who is an extremely intelligent, capable person. My parents have been married for a few decades now, and on the whole seem to have a happy marriage built on deep mutual respect.

Guilty. (no one take that out of context please...just a rejoinder) That's not a problem IMO! I mean, one might ask why God creates a woman with a high IQ then...I have actually been known

to say...'well, you should have married a Barbie then...sorry I just look like one (haha..blond joke)

But seriously, I have a real need to discuss and understand things....about the worst thing a person could say to me is.....you won't understand, or not right now, or put me off in some way that

seems to entail I do not have the capacity to understand...that's a prob for me

I just don't think a woman should pretend anything. I don't think a man should either

I don't pretend with my wife. I love her to the point of discombobulation. I love her for everything she is, when she is down, when she is grouchy, when she laughs (often and always..). I love her for her intelligence (she is the maths brain of the family).

I love the fact that she reads the bible and tears flow down her face, I love the fact that when she leads worship she cries. I love the fact that she knows scripture better than most people I know. I love the way she cooks, I mean she is an excellent cook! I love her love for others. I love the way that when people see her they automatically smile. I love the way every time she sees me come home, it's like I have been away for a month. I love the way she smiles every time she looks at me.

I love the way she makes her own clothes, not because she has to, but because she wants to. I love the way I have seen her make 10 or so outfits for 10 girls in an orphanage, when she could go out and buy what she needs, but she does it because it is serving.

Nothing much scriptural in that little reveal, but I don't care. I'm in love......

I mean like really!

When I read the comments made by Baryonoctet, I was having a hard time believing any man would say what he did? It actually made me think of an opinion you would give. I don't fully disagree with him on the idea that women shouldn't have to hide their feelings, and always be cheerful. Part of marriage is being able to confide in one another, so I had no problem with any of that, but when he went further and attacked the 50s, and the way things were back then, I couldn't let it go. If my wife is down, I am more than happy to discuss her feelings with her. At the same time, I don't want someone who is going to be a critic. I get enough of that mess in the world. She doesn't appreciate it if I do that to her either. I have also noticed that Baryonoctet doesn't even come into agreement with scripture with regard to Biblical submission. He acknowledged what scripture said, but seemed to have a personal problem with it?

I figure, if he wants a wife that goes around criticizing him, I hope that is exactly what he gets. If that makes him happy, more power to him. I am sure his wife would love it if he was critical of her, rather than being someone who is supportive of her.

It is better to dwell in a corner of a housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house. Proverbs 21:9

The word brawling is from the Hebrew word medan, and it means discord, strife.

Someone who had really good teachings on marriage is the couple in Arkansas with the 18 kids.

awww shucks ..you thought of little ole me? Really?

But how does one attack the 50's and do the 50's feel the need to respond?

Well regarding your comment with Bary and scripture...do the 50's line up with scripture?

Bet you'll say "Well they are closer to scripture then the decade we are in now........"

There, back to normal now. Don't adjust your screen......according to Butero, we have no choice anyway

please laugh....it's a joke....she said feebly

Yeah I mean.. it's not really a problem, but it does ruin me for certain notions. I'm with you as far as being dismissed goes, I'm not cool with that either.

The 50s called in Butero for defense.

Somebody had to stand up for them. They are always getting a bad rap.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • George Whitten, the visionary behind Worthy Ministries and Worthy News, explores the timing of the Simchat Torah War in Israel. Is this a water-breaking moment? Does the timing of the conflict on October 7 with Hamas signify something more significant on the horizon?

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Daniel: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 3

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this study, I'll be focusing on Daniel and his picture of the resurrection and its connection with Yeshua (Jesus).

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
