Who can find a virtuous woman?

Probably a virtuous man could.......(because a virtuous woman, at least every one I know, would probably run from one who was not)

And if he cannot, he should probably be wondering what is it he is doing wrong.

So what makes a virtuous man? (In a biblical way)

I gave some thought to this post Fez, and I have to disagree. If what you are saying is true, that implies that people get the spouse they deserve, because that is who they drew to them. That would mean all the women who have abusive spouses were somehow to blame for not attracting a good man, and that is ridiculous. It sounded good on the surface, but it is not right.

No one has attacked scripture....I doubt that a man that thinks women wearing pants is an abomination would even be able to live with a woman as described in Proverbs 31..that woman, thinks for

herself and conducts business...that husband is proud of her. Some men would be very threatened by that woman. That woman, today, might wear a suit...with a skirt or pants...that woman today

might work in board room...that woman today, might by YOUR boss, LOL!

It seems every chance you get, you twist what is said so that you can make an accusation of some sort...that is not loving or kind. That is legalism and it does not work and saves no one at all.

Again, no one attacked scripture...that is just hyperbole that is used to make the rest of us sound as though we are anti-God or something...I truly do not believe you actually understand

the relationship many women have with their husband and the fact that they respect their husbands...not because they have to...but because they do so freely because their husband loves them

I won't be defending this post because their is no reason to...people can read what others write and then they will note the response and as we all have the ability to choose, I don't think

women will be siding with your viewpoint and I know my husband certainly doesn't

And her husband may be wearing a dress while conducting business? In the OP, the Proverbs 31 example of a virtuous woman was attacked. By saying that not all women are like that, as though it was a good thing, it is challenging Proverbs 31. That should be plain for anyone to see. The woman in Proverbs 31 would not be working in a board room. There is nothing in that passage that would even remotely suggest that? She certainly would not be a cross-dresser.

Are you saying women should not be CEO's or Directors of companies? And please refrain from using the cross dresser example. You are probably the only one in this thread that believes so, and many members, men and women alike, may find it distasteful.

OK Fez, at WB I will refrain from using that term, but I hope others can control their impulses to bring it back up again to demonize and isolate me? As for women being CEO's and Directors of Companies, I am saying that there is nothing in Proverbs 31 that indicates they would be an example of a virtuous woman. Biblically speaking, women were created as a help meet to their husbands. That is found right there in Genesis, and the Bible also states that the man was not created for the woman, but the woman for the man. It also says that the head of every woman is the man, the head of man is Christ, and the head of Christ is God. We all have God-given roles, and Satan teaches people to rebel against them.

You are not an authority on women, virtuous women, God or the Bible...you are simply one of many opinions that attempts to define truth by saying everyone

else is wrong.

It is for that reason, that you do not understand.

Your statement that a chapter in the book of Proverbs was attacked would be funny if you were not, I suspect, serious.

What is plain for anyone to see, is you, once again, twisting what people say in an attempt to make it seem we do not love God or believe the Bible.

You make yourself out as right all the time as well, and I don't believe you have any understanding whatsoever about proper interpretation of scripture. You twist what I say all the time.

No..people can read what anyone posts and I don't remember being accused of twisting what others say....

I do not find your point of view in scripture....I find that you have to really confuse the old and new testaments in order to come to some of the conclusions you espouse

yes...but that is not all that scripture has to say about women and men

How do you reconcile this verse: There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. Gal 3:28

You cannot make a doctrine on one verse and say I don't provide scripture (although no one else has ever made that point because it is simply not true)...the Bible says we are

all one in Christ and does say women should respect their husbands BUT men are to love their wives in a sacrificial way as Christ did for the church

I have never read your thoughts on that...or the fact that we are all one in Christ and not identified by sex or race...

As to the women CEO's and Directors comment... So you're saying that a leader in a company, organization, church, etc. that happensto be a woman is not showing Biblical viritues espoused in the Bible and in particular Proverbs 31?

"Help meet"... Interesting term. Are you a fan of the Michael and Debbie Pearl? Curious.

Once again IMO it seems like another thread (in particular regarding the role of women, abuse, and/or legalism) being monopolized and/or derailed by one member's opinions... Perhaps it's just me?

So many attributes are defined in scripture of a godly man. To keep it short, though, here are some qualities that I believe make up a virtuous man:

1. A man who even when wronged, turns the other cheek and does not act in reciprocation. He is patient, gentle, loving, forgiving and exhibits self control.

2. A man who thinks things through and prays before making serious decisions. He is a man of wisdom, reliability, courage, and faith.

3. A man who does what is right even if it means there is no profit or any reward in it for him. He is trustworthy, integrity, and humility.

There are many more that could be added to this. Some of these though are ones that I thought were perhaps the most important.

The Lord teaches us sin brings confusion and that is what we are seeing here in the clothes issue...

these matters of dress is one of heart and purpose- this is what God has brought us into in these last

days in His Son 'purpose and intent of heart' ...

The presence of sin has brought focus upon wrong elements~ as in the begin they were naked and were

not ashamed! you cannot take from this leavened lump of existence and make for yourselves a holy

and righteous place! The millennial kingdom proves that even in the perfect reign ot Christ and the world

is brought back to Garden like qualities still iniquity will be present as lucifer is loosed and others follow

him still! Thus knowing all the God has told us will be! We are to be a people who focus the heart to here:

Col 3:1-11

3 If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the

right hand of God. 2 Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. 3 For you died, and your

life is hidden with Christ in God. 4 When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with

Him in glory.

5 Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion
,

evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. 6 Because of these things the wrath of God is

coming upon the sons of disobedience, 7 in which you yourselves once walked when you lived in them.

8 But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out

of your mouth. 9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and

have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him,

11 where there is neither Greek nor Jew, circumcised nor uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave nor

free, but Christ is all and in all.

NKJV

Notice here all these elements listed is matters of heart and not outward adornments or of foods etc. !

The evil one would like nothing better than to make New Testament pharasies and saducees focussing

upon that which God is not keeping and letting go of the focus of the heart preparing to look The Lord

in the eye and give an account of our heart to Him and Why! Love, Steven

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
