US Ready to put Weapons in Space

The Guardian reports "America has begun preparing its next military objective - space. Documents reveal that the US Air Force has for the first time adopted a doctrine to establish 'space superiority'." If this goes ahead, it will be in violation of the 1967 Outer Space Treaty which forbids the militarization of space.

The countries that we signed that treaty with have proven to not be trustworthy, so I am not sure how we should treat this. Do you think the Chinese will not go there with or without us.

I think we have created a situation that has made much of the world fear the U.S. For a while it was GWB they feared, but we pretty much showed that the majority of the country backs him, so the fear is spread onto the country and all of us.

We may have no choice now but to build rapidly, at least for the next four years.

The Soviet Union no longer exists, so treaties with "it" are pretty questionable.

However...

This is a part of the treaty also...

"Any State Party to the Treaty may give notice of its withdrawal from the Treaty one year after its entry into force by written notification to the Depositary Governments. Such withdrawal shall take effect one year from the date of receipt of this notification"

If we gave notice right this minute, we would not be ready to deploy space weapons in under a year anyway, would we?

If the Almighty wishes for us to be protected, we will be protected, with or without space weapons. Are you familiar with the story of Joshua? He was tricked into making an aliance with his enemies, what did he do when he found out the true identies of his new allies? Break covenant?

There are weapons up there already folks. You don't honestly think that all those satallites are harmless electronic gyzmos do you? Granted much of it is probally obselete by today's standards but still deadly.

Start deploying weapons into space. The Chinese have been working on a space based weapon since the 90's. Much of our military depends on satellites today, so we might as well start defending them and our country.
