How do any of those compare with the US, in terms of a political for doing so? Keeping in mind that it would take a Constitutional Amendment to achieve such thing.

The constitution is being shredded.

I'm going to go on the line here and say that I do not believe the government wants to ban all guns (now). At this point I do not believe the people nor members of Congress would allow a full banning of guns. The problem is that there is a lot of demonization coming from both sides but for the sake of the argument I going to point it to those who support Gun control. Here is an article from a News site that obtained the names of all those who own guns WITH PERMITS:

http://gawker.com/5974190/

It's an actual list obtained from the NYPD police department somehow. The new bill wanted to create a national registry that would have been connected federally (like a social security registry). This registry would have had names, permit and would have included information from doctors on if each person on the registry have had some type of illness that would have made them suspicious (and thus needed to turn in their gun). This is a national registry of items that are suppose to be private and protected amendment rights. The fact that the gov can get info from your doctor about any possible mental illnesses that would not allow you to have a gun is an invasion of privacy. Some who support gun control probably don't see a reason to even need guns and might question the necessity for guns so they would support full gun banning. Remember that before this bill there was a bill that Obama was trying to push that would ban almost all semi-automatics (not just assault rifles) which is the majority of guns that people own. People just don't walk around with AK-47s they generally have hand guns or a type of shot gun.

So Obama's previous gun control plan (actually banning some guns)+Gun control supporter being disrespectful (the list from the article is very crude)+ a national registry does not sit well with many people. That is too much government intervention without respectfully dealing with those who do safely own guns and do not support the stringent gun control. They are not all crazy, hicks who want to kill things. There needs to be a debate or respectful dialogue between gun control supporters and gun control opposers instead of Congress trying to go over the head and not listen to the people.

Also a national health care system and a national gun registry are socialistic qualities. Though there is a very small chance that U.S would become completely socialistic it is beginning to have socialistic qualities which generally don't work is a predominately capitalistic society. There are even people in congress who believe in the "It takes a village to raise a child" (Hillary) meaning that the schools should be predominant in child-rearing rather than parents (this was on MSNBC).

Also the state has their own gun laws so why not just pressure the states with lose gun laws or those who just give guns without a permit? I would think that would be an easier solution...

dont get me started on that ny paper. Publishing names of gun owners is stupid, low handed, and immature. It puts a lot of lives at stake, it really does.

Maybe then can now focus on the real problem, guns in the hands of those who should not have them.

As one example, Pelosi has stated outright that all guns need to be banned. Use google and see that for yourself.

It is my understanding that the places that have the most gun violence are places like Chicago where they don't enforce the laws they have. They could take the guns away from most of the people who use them if they just enforced the laws on the books. You do have to confront a bad guy with a gun to do that and they don't seem to have the initiative to do that.

Yeah but Pelosi is one person (slightly crazy person). There are still a lot of people in congress who do not want guns banned as shown with the recent bill. The cup is still half full. So though there are some who do they seem like the extremist in this case (Pelosi is always an extremist to me). As shown with the recent votes for the bill I just don't think the ones who want full banning are going to be given that wish anytime soon. Many republicans and some (or few) democrats are even against national background checks so I highly doubt there would be an increase in support for full banning. I state that as presently though. I do believe since the gov is adopting more socialistic styles that in the future there would be another push to ban all guns but at least not today. And if push comes to shove the supreme court could provide input and I'm sure they would claim gun banning and very unconstitutional ( I don't know why some don't see that now but (shrugs) what can you do about people like Pelosi)

Most of the people i know who are against this background bill, simply do not trust our government at all.. Including me...... which means I don't even trust those that are against these bills.

Even Biden and Obama, have said in the past their goal is a weapons ban. The evidence is out there. No, theyre not going to do an outright ban because theyre not stupid-that would lead to instant civil war-that is, if it even manages to somehow get through the senate and house. So theyre doing it the smart way-theyre going to widdle away at it little by little, make it so difficult for people to own guns and ammo, that many will just get rid of them anyway, and trick people into thinking theyre the problem-and then when they do finally pull the last straw, no one will even notice.

the US is actually under a republic to be technical. A democracy, everyone votes, on pretty much everything. A republic, the only thing we vote for, are the people who represent us-and they vote for the laws. Just going to point that out.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
