the body will be some form of energy or light or both; not flesh

~

Beloved, A Thought

And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many. Matthew 27:52-53

Or Two

For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself;

And hath given him authority to execute judgment also,

because he is the Son of man.

Marvel not at this:

for the hour is coming,

in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice,

And shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;

and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation. John 5:26-29

1 corin 15

51 Behold, I show you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,

52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

john 3:6

That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

this where I get my thoughts

the matt verse i think happened when Jesus arose after He was crucified. I dont see how to connect that verse to rapture or end times gathering.

the john 5 makes me think everyone will be before him in flesh but as soon as the determination is made you go to heaven or hell but not in the

human body.

there is probably something you see that i do not see in the verses you provide..

Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.

Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?

Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive. But every man in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; afterward they that are Christ's at his coming.

Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power. For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.

The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death. 1 Corinthians 15:22-26

The limitations of the human mind to calculate answers and conclude possibilities of the unknown is an aid in helping us to understand our limitations.  We have difficulty perceiving or understanding that which we do not experience in this temporal realm.

Dirt is dirt because God says it is dirt.  And so goes every single aspect of creation.  This is an important consideration when seeking to understand the limitless possibilities of eternity.

A question asks "Will we have a need to use the bathroom?".  Our minds are then trained to seek in scripture for glimpses of the possibilities of our future reality based upon things stated in it.  The problem is that we would be basing our reality on the idea that nothing will change.  We may see that Jesus ate with the disciples after his resurrection but we can only assume how his glorified body processed the food or if it even processed it at all.  We assume byproduct or waste.

These things are well above my understanding or ability to grasp at this time.  I do know that there was a time when thorns and thistle were not an issue nor did man have to eat of the dust of the earth by the sweat of his brow.  So what can I truly say about that which is to come?

Mat 19:26 But Jesus beheld [them], and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

God simply spoke and all that we see became.  With a word he can change it still into whatever is possible within the mind of God.

so i do believe Jesus done this,  i was under the impression Jesus took this physical form because he was dealing with the disciples at that time in earth history for them to really understand his message as they did have difficulty grasping his message at times; he came to them in his physical body so they could see and feel him and know for sure there is life after death of the human body.

It seems you are saying we will have human bodies even though you have not actually said we will, hope this sentence makes since.

the verses i quoted give the impression we wont be human, can you address them for me.

Coheir,, it doesn't seem like heaven without pets, but I guess I won't mind if Jesus is there. But our pastor loves to ride his horse and is quick to remind us that horses will be in heaven since Jesus and His saints return on horses for warfare. And we will have white robes, washed in His blood, which seems a little contradictory but I am sure it means purity.

The thought of being able to see Jesus as He is, and to see God our Daddy, just blows my mind. It seems like science fiction so beyond my comprehension, to see the actual Creator of the universe. I wonder if we will be able to explore the universe and go where no man has gone before. I have often wondered if heaven is another dimension that we are not aware of. It all seems so surreal and exciting.

I know what you mean I had one dog growing up from 3 til about 13 and I would love to have him back. Ecc 3: 19-22 makes me think  no earthly animals go to heaven. i could be wrong and will admit being wrong if someone shows I misunderstand. Isa 65:17 make me think God has a way; if we get to heaven; that we shall not remember life on earth

whether that is a favorite pet or a sibling or friend that did not make it. If we make to heaven and all we can think about is our pet or friend or sibling that did not make it how great would heaven be?

I sometime just slowly ride down the rode and look at all the different creations right before our eyes the diversity is huge and unfathomable, and know and believe this is no where as great as heaven will be, makes you pull over and say a prayer.

i to hope we can explore other areas God has created besides what we see from earth.

It is like the song by Mercy Me "I Can Only Imagine".We are thinking in our human minds.God is way beyond that.We can not even comprehend what our heavenly glorified bodies will be like.I have heard from someone that animals do have a soul but were not capable of a resurrection but that could be wrong. It sure would be like Jesus to have our pets waiting for us.One of my favorite thoughts of heaven is riding a white horse down to Earth with Jesus. What a ride that will be. :mgcheerful:

coheir* that makes sense that we would not have our sexual organs but those organs are used for other things besides sex.Our bodies might consist of some sort of energy but those on Earth will be about to see us.We might possibly govern the New Millenium with Christ. We will be given jobs. Those jobs will be perfect for us and we will love them.We will not be lounging around on clouds all day LOL

yea, i think it will be just spirits like angels in heaven, for we are all one in Jesus so no gender preference. No memories either of worldly things.

On earth we have fleshy bodies but in heaven very complete opposite and hard for us to imagine that part of it. No more pains, hurts or sufferings. It will be awesome. A home in heaven. Even all the unanswered prayers that we didnt receive here in the world, we will receive in heaven. :brightidea:

I agree It Will Be Awesome Even If I Don't Know All of God's Word Yet-Because I sure don't!!!

Matthew 22:29-30 (New King James Version)

Jesus answered and said to them, "You are mistaken, not knowng the Scriptures nor the power of God. (He was talking to the Sadducees who say there is no resurrection) For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels of God in heaven.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
