Just checking,

Eternal security, once saved always saved, is true.

Do you believe that?

On my part, I do not believe OSAS theory because salvation is conditional and we have to maintain it with us once same is given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ himself and not by the bible.

Do you believe that?

On my part, I do not believe OSAS theory because salvation is conditional and we have to maintain it with us once same is given to us by the Lord Jesus Christ himself and not by the bible.

You cannot earn salvation by anything you do or by any merit of your own.

For the same reason you cannot lose salvation.

Eternal Security or Once Saved Always Saved is Absolutely True. The Holy Bible has many verses or passages that prove this. Here are just a few. There are many more.

Jesus Christ who is God said:

John 6:47

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

If someone has everlasting life, then they could never be damned. If not, they did not have everlasting life but potentially had everlasting life. The verse would say, “might have everlasting life.” Jesus Christ, who is God, would not lie especially with the double verily.

Jesus also said:

John 3:14-18

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

17 For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Verse 15 and 16 say the same thing and by the same logic prove eternal security. Both also emphatically claim, “should not perish” which again proves eternal security. In verse 18, Jesus Christ says that they are not condemned. All again prove eternal security.

Jesus Christ also said:

John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

In verse 26, Jesus Christ said that they shall never die. Surely you believe God.

Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, wrote:

Ephesians 4:30

And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

If your sealed till the day of redemption, you could not be damned.

In the following verse, Jesus says He is with the saved and will never leave them. How could they ever go to hell?

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Jesus Christ the Lord also said:

John 10:28-30

28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

30 I and my Father are one.

If someone has “eternal life,” then they could never be damned. If not, they did not have eternal life but potentially had eternal life. Jesus Christ, who is God, would not lie. Again Jesus Christ is emphatic that “they shall never perish.” Obviously no man can pluck them out of Jesus’ hand or His Father’s hand.

The apostle John wrote the following. How can you know that you have eternal life if it is only a maybe?

1 John 5:13

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

The next passage, written by Paul, the apostle of the Gentiles, says, “are saved,” not might be saved.

Ephesians 2:8-9

8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Potentially damned could not be salvation as written by Paul in the following passage.

Romans 1:16

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The following words spoken by Jesus Christ again prove once saved always saved.

John 5:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Before the rapture, for those that are saved by the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, there are only 2 possibilities and only one outcome. If they die before the rapture, they get a glorified body and are forever with the Lord. If they are alive at the rapture, they get a glorified body and are forever with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 5:8

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

1 Thessalonians 4:15-17

15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.

16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:

17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

The above sampling absolutely proves that eternal security (once saved always saved) is absolutely true. They are emphatic and quite clear. Since the Holy Bible has no contradictions, anything that you think shows otherwise is just your mistaken interpretation. Many people assume a passage is talking about salvation/damnation when it is not. This is usually done by taking the verse out of context, assuming meanings of words with false definitions and doctrines, ignoring what salvation really means, or by not rightly dividing the word of truth (see 2 Timothy 2:15) They may be confusing statements made to a different people, for a different time, about a different subject. They may even be using a new Bible version with a corrupt reading.

From the above, we are assured by God Almighty the Saviour that if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are saved forever. Those that are saved through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood have all their sins paid for by that blood. They have all their sins forgiven by faith in His atoning blood. God will not remember their sins. Therefore, no passage of damnation or condemnation applies to those saved by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Those that have not believed by faith alone are not saved. None of their sins are paid for, forgiven, or forgotten.  Every passage of damnation or condemnation applies to them. Many of these quote the very passages that condemn themselves.

In love, in Christ, in meekness,

Mark

True, no one can be saved by anything we do but by only coming to the Lord Jesus Christ so that we might have life (John 5:39-40). Continuous believing in Jesus begets salvation and same is a continuous process. Once believing in Jesus ceases, salvation also ceases to exist in us, see what happened to Peter when he failed to believe in Jesus when he was told by the Lord about His incoming death, the Lord called Peter Satan.

The early church had a rough time with the canonizing of James .... but reasoning the Word comes this-

If God The Holy Spirit is within you then you will have works resulting in the proof of His presence! They

are works resultant by influence By Him that empowers us to do so thus giving God The Glory of His Sons

honor as the Word will be fulfilled...

We are saved by the grace of God...

we are proved by the outworking of that reality!

Love, Steven

I agree that good works will come from those that are saved as a result of salvation but not its cause.

Those good works are the Holy Spirit working within the saved.

Mark, I made a rushed reply, but that is exactly what I was about to say. Confessing Christ and baptism are two of the first things the Holy Spirit seams to lead us to do after we are saved. Our first baby steps in walking in the Spirit, so to speak. You are so far, for the most part, speaking to those who are in agreement with you. But there are some that are strongly arminian who might disagree. While salvation is offered to all, and all are called, there are some who resist the grace of God and harden their hearts to God's love. God continues to give us every chance to repent till our dying day. "Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart as some did in the wilderness." But it is completely true that by grace we are saved through faith alone. It is also true that He has created good works for us that we should walk therein. Those who think they can continue to live a sinful lifestyle are also decieved. God does change our hearts to want to be more like Jesus, so that we no longer want to live sinful lifestyles. But that is not what saves us. God saves us by His grace through the gift of faith. We are totally unable to do anything to save ourselves. However, God does continue to change us from glory to glory to be more like Jesus. He changes our hearts, praise His Name!

Jesus Christ, who is the Lord God Almighty, proclaimed the following.

John 3:14-15

14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:

15 That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

Since belief is the only thing mentioned, it must be the only thing necessary for salvation. It cannot be belief plus anything else. If it were, then the statement would not be true. But Jesus said this, so it must be true. If someone does not believe these words spoken by Jesus Christ, then that person does not believe what Jesus Christ said. Therefore that person has not believed on the Lord Jesus Christ. John 3:14-15 is a faith alone statement.

It is also a once saved, always saved statement, else it would say might have everlasting life. If a person have everlasting life, they could never be damned.

Jesus Christ, who is the Lord God Almighty, also proclaimed the following.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Again belief in the Lord Jesus Christ is the only thing mentioned. Therefore it is the only thing required for salvation. It could not be belief plus anything else or it would not be true. It is also a once saved, always saved statement.

Jesus Christ, who is the Lord God Almighty, also proclaimed the following.

John 3:18

He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Only belief in the Lord Jesus Christ is mentioned. Again it is a faith alone statement.  The difference between going to heaven or not is just faith in Jesus Christ.

From the above passages, we are assured by God Almighty the Saviour that if you believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, you are saved forever.

Jesus Christ spoke the most awesome words ever. Do you believe Jesus Christ the Lord?

John 6:47

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

In love, in Christ, in meekness,

Mark

Here are some more passages which show that salvation is just by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

John 11:25-26

25 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

26 And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

John 3:36

He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.

John 5:24

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

John 20:31

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

1 John 5:13

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

Acts 10:43

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.

Acts 13:38-41

38 Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

39 And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

40 Beware therefore, lest that come upon you, which is spoken of in the prophets;

41 Behold, ye despisers, and wonder, and perish: for I work a work in your days, a work which ye shall in no wise believe, though a man declare it unto you.

Romans 3:19-26

19 Now we know that what things soever the law saith, it saith to them who are under the law: that every mouth may be stopped, and all the world may become guilty before God.

20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin.

21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;

22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:

23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:

25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;

26 To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Philippians 3:9

And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Whether from Jesus Christ, John the Baptist, Paul, Peter or John, it is the same. Salvation is just by faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and His shed blood.

what would be your definition of the word believeth  (believe),  sometimes the English words don't carry all the full thoughts of the Greek writer...

other one,

I lived in misery for several years in fear that I wasn't really saved because I did not understand the meaning of "believe in Jesus." I have written & published 2 articles on the Rapture Forums website about how God showed me the real meaning of believing when I turned to Him through His Word seeking the truth about what "believe" really means, Since that time in my life, 42 years ago, I have lived in the peace of an absolute assurance of salvation that only a genuine "believer" could understand.

The original article is "What Does It Mean to Believe in Jesus?"

The second article "Law, Grace, and Believing in Jesus" was written in response to some readers who questioned the scriptures I used in the first article.

I invite you to read them. Also, I am including a link to a story about the cross that I wrote for my 6 year old granddaughter which is about believing in Jesus.

You cannot resolve this witness of Paul with your belief-

1 Cor 5:1-5

5 It is actually reported that there is sexual immorality among you, and such sexual immorality

as is not even named among the Gentiles — that a man has his father's wife! 2 And you are

puffed up, and have not rather mourned, that he who has done this deed might be taken away

from among you. 3 For I indeed, as absent in body but present in spirit, have already judged

(as though I were present) him who has so done this deed. 4 In the name of our Lord Jesus

Christ, when you are gathered together, along with my spirit, with the power of our Lord Jesus

Christ, 5 deliver such a one to Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that his spirit may be saved

in the day of the Lord Jesus.

NKJV

Basically it is saying let him die in his sin that his spirit may be saved...  Love, Steven

It is absolutely amazing the fall from faith today.

Most either flat out reject Jesus Christ or they have adopted a works based or merit based salvation. That is not faith at all.

Many deny that eternal security and Once Saved Always Saved are true. But that is just a works based or merit based salvation in disguise.

I have never seen so many people just not believe Jesus Christ when He said

John 6:47

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life.

Maybe that is why Jesus Christ said:

Luke 18:8

I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
