Great Post Dr. Luke!

I just threw that verse out there because someone showed it to me one time when I asked the same question. I never got an answer on my question until I read your post. Thanks.

I was thinking though, In Genesis it says God told Adam and Eve not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. He did create the tree didn't He?

I know that God does not tempt us, but Satan is allowed to. And I know there is no temptation so great that we cannot find the way of escape because He said we could. He said He would make a way of escape for us. HallaluYah!

I do know that God does Test us though, like you said, to burn off the dross and bring forth gold. I believe thru each trial and testing we endure makes us that much stronger in Him.

This is a good post. It makes me dig a little deeper in scripture. Shalom All

TOUCHE', Tubal Cain. When you're right, you're right. I guess we all like to look as good as we can! When asked 'Whose voice in all the earth is sweetest to your ears?' a Roman general once replied: "The voice of he who best sings my exploits!"

Evil is simply an absence of good. The less good, the more evil.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Surely the absence of Good is neutrality?

If I do not donate some of what little money I have to a charity, am I then Evil, for I am not good, or merely ignorant of the needy?

Also, on-topic, why would God, this ultimate Omnipotent being, create anything that could possibly turn against him?

It's true that man is seduced by his own lusts, but hes is also tempted by what he see's,and demons are able to sugjest thoughts , it's the enemies job to keep him in bondage!

But ressit the Devil, and his temptations and he will flee from you, use the word of God, as your sword, and the shield of faith as your defense! Keep every thought captive to the obedience of Christ! Very Hard to do without practice and some failure!

So we must overcome temptation, by crucifyiny our fleshly desires, so that we might walk in the Spirit, tested by the victories over temptation, and the fires of affliction, which make us trust worthy vessels of honor, for the Masters use!

The battle over the mind and soul is real, and making a statement of belief in christ is not enough, even the devils believe and tremble! You must be totally submissive by an ever increasing acts of obedience, or you will cotinually fall back into sin until your heart becomes hard!

Revelation 3:1-6;

1AND TO the angel (messenger) of the assembly (church) in Sardis write: These are the words of Him Who has the seven Spirits of God [[1] the sevenfold Holy Spirit] and the seven stars: I know your record and what you are doing; you are supposed to be alive, but [iN REALITY] YOU ARE DEAD.

2Rouse yourselves and keep awake, and strengthen and invigorate what remains and is on the point of dying; for I have not found a thing that you have done [any work of yours] meeting the REQUIREMENTS of My God or perfect in His sight.

3So call to mind the lessons you received and heard; continually lay them to heart and OBEY them, and REPENT. In case you will not rouse yourselves and keep awake and watch, I will come upon you like a thief, and you will not know or suspect at what hour I will come.

4Yet you still have a (FEW) [persons'] names in Sardis who have not (SOILED) "(remember keep unspotted from the world)" their clothes, and they shall walk with Me in white, because they are worthy and deserving.

5Thus shall he who conquers (is victorious) be clad in white garments, and I will not (ERASE OR BLOT) OUT HIS NAME FROM THE BOOK OF LIFE "(this implies that most of that church which is found to be mostly dead, will have their names blotted out)"; I will acknowledge him [as Mine] and I will confess his name openly before My Father and before His angels.(1)

6He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the [Holy] Spirit says to the assemblies (churches).

Agape; Ephraim.

Shakespere said " there is nothing good nor bad, only our thinking makes it so".

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

And the Serpent said to Eve,

"God knows that in the day you eat from [the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil] your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil."

And Eve decided "that the tree was . . . desirable to make one wise," and partook.

Notice any similarities?

You do realise you're calling Shakespeare evil, yes?

It's my train of thought that God shouldn't've given snakes the ability to talk.

Hey, Loop -

Why is it so important to you to be mocking Jesus all over the place?

Seriously, I've seen several of your posts, and they remind me of one of those monkeys that throw its own excrement at other creatures.

What gives?

I know that those unhairy upright things came from an older species of monkey.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

How do you know this? Where you there? Have you placed faith in this belief of yours? Just how closely have you examined the evidence?

A simple way to put it is:

Look at a monkey. Look at a person. Similar.

Look at a man. Look at God. You can't.

Or: Because it makes more sense than being made out of dust or clay or whatnot.

I'm not religious

So are lots of other people who have better things to do with their lives than to be continually antaganistic.

So, why are you?

and I consider it a form of control over those with nothing more meaningful in their lives.

And we have found Jesus to set us free from a lot of junk.

Again, why the need to throw out so much hate at us? (And yes, it is hate.

Excrement-lobbing monkey I may be, but I don't believe everything I read in one book and I know that those unhairy upright things came from an older species of monkey.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

That wasn't what I meant, and you know it.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

      Shalom everyone,

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
