You shouldn't wrap your head around world affairs. It's ok to keep yourself informed but don't get sucked into all the darkness that abounds there. The world is full of evil and it comes in all shapes and sizes. When the presedent ( Bush ) took office, he basically stepped into that world of darkness. I've seen him compromise his faith on several occasions but that's him...not me. It's his eternity not mine.

If your going to judge someone, keep it to yourself or at the very least take it to God. Broadcasting your hates and dislikes toward certain individuals only stirs up the spirits, and by doing so you put a stumbling block in the paths of your brothers and sisters.

I don't mean to offend and if I have I am truly sorry. But you must remember, the world is full of darkness and we who are of the Light have no place there.

Just a thought

Matthew 5

14 You are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.

38 The field is the world; the good seed are the children of the kingdom; but the tares are the children of the wicked one;

Matthew 18

7 Woe to the world because of offenses! for it must needs be that offenses come; but woe to that man by whom the offense comes!

John 1

9 That was the true Light, which lights every man that comes into the world.

10 He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.

John 3: 19 And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

G W needs to experience the light

When we point fingers and name names we are executing judgement. That's not our job. We were not called to be judges but sowers. If you see your brother or sister walking in a way that is contrary to sound doctrine then yes, you should go to that person and try to show them the error of their ways. If they accept it, good. if they don't, so be it. Their eternity not your's.

If you believe the presedent is walking in darkness then go to him and explain the way of the Light. If you are unable to meet with him, take your concerns to the Father.

Walk in the Light and leave the judging to Christ.

If John Kery were president , would you advise people to jump on his homo bandwagon? Would you advise people to kill babies? If the prez is doing wrong, then he is not being a Godly prez. Would you want to be destroyed because of him? :emot-hug:

See what you've done? You've justified wickedness, and lack of any christian leadership from the president, just because of the "society" we are in. If our society is not germane to christian values, then something needs to be changed. If the highest political office in the land has no control over morality and Godly living, then nobody does.

Wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong.....and wrong! I have not justified the wickedness of anybody. I have merely been pointing out the fact that we do not live in a theocracy under the rule of a monarchial priesthood. The highest political office in the land has no authority to control the morality of the nation. But it does have the obligation to run the country according to the will of the people, without - and pay close attention here, because this is something that the religious bigots don't seem to understand - WITHOUT preference to or exclusion of any particular group of people. That means that if a man is qualified to hold a political office the President cannot discriminate against him for any reason, despite how he personally feels about him.

Unprofessional? Hello? It is the job of every christian, professional or otherwise, to preach the gospel. Now Mr. Bush is in the most influential position in the land, and the best he can do is mention "God", and say that "Islam is a religion of peace and love" and talk about "Faith Based Programs", never mind that some of those programs are PAGAN programs which GEORGE BUSH'S bill supports!

Pagan programs?? :emot-hug: You've got to be kidding me, right? My answer above fairly addresses your response here. Neither George W. Bush, nor any person responsible for carrying out the duties of their elected or nominated office, have the legal right or moral right to discriminate against anyone who is rightfully qualified to work for the United States government.

How ironic it is, by the way, that no more than 40 years ago we very well might have been arguing this way over African American's holding political offices!

Actually, Nite Owl brings up a good point.

What fruit can we expect from this discussion?

I mean, Bush is in his second term, meaning he cannot be re-elected, meaning - so let's say you succeed in convincing us to all cry, "Hypocrite!" at Pres. Bush.

What have we accomplished? :emot-hug:

What have we changed?

Does not Scripture command us to respect and pray for our leaders?

Can we not make that the focus of our dissapoinments rather than pointing fingers?

Well, was what Asa did right? or not? You can't have it both ways. Either sodomy is a sin, or it isn't. If it is, then a Christian cannot tolerate it.

So let me get this straight, it's the president's job to make sure that no sinner serves in his administration?

Yes, any sex outside of marriage is a sin, and I believe the president has stated that on more than one occasion. So does that mean anyone committing premarital or extramarital sex should be barred from any public service?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It's his job to show leadership.

An ambassador is a representative of the U.S. and our people. For the president to send an openly gay ambassador AND his live in lover to represent us is beyond justification.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wrong. It's not about justification. For an American President to not show religious bigotry, and to select a man to represent America as ambassador on his qualifications and experience alone, despite any personal feelings, shows strong character and leadership.

Are you even aware that Michael Guest served in the White House and in the United States government (Foriegn Affiars) in some capacity for 4 presidencies? Take a look at his biography: http://www.osec.doc.gov/obl/romaniabulgari...Bio%20Guest.htm

Yet you openly criticize the Bush administration for not lambasting the man and holding him up as some kind of abominable gay sacrifice. You say that election of a qualified man, with a distinguished career as a foreign diplomat, to an office which he is well qualified for, is wrong [unjustified, unforgivable, etc., etc.] because he is gay. But since when has the perception of any sin prevented any man from holding a political office? Never! Not in this country, not in our government, and not in any country or government in the history of mankind! Even king David was an adulterer and a murderer!

This is nothing short of religious bigotry of the type that certain southern churches loudly preached during the civil rights movement of 50s to 60s!

Who are you to say that a fellow brother is cursed by God for not walking the same walk that you claim to?

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
