All this wasted effort.

If I celebrate the birth of my Lord, and Saviour Jesus Christ on this day, and you call that pagan then you are the one who is in error. My family and I celebrate the birth of the saviour, we talk about Him, and worship Him on that day, and no one has any authority to call that paganism. Do what you will but you need to do some more study of The Scriptures. It is not the day, it is not what they call they day, it has nothing to do with anything other than a personal relationship, and no one knows another enough to say that they are failing in that based on what I read in these posts.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

You're right, the prophecy was first spoken to Eve. However, the Mother child religion that came out of early Babylon..in fact, from Bablyon's founder Nimrod, was the first religion that actually believed in a virgin mother giving birth to a savior. As with everything this was obviously distorted by Satan in that the mother was exalted high and viewed as the "Queen of Heaven". Unfortunately many aspects of this religion found its way into the Christian/Catholic church in 320 AD when pagan temples and priest (and priestesses) were forced to adopt the Christian view point (due to Constantine's military victory and subsequent decree of Christianity as the sole true religion). Thus, pagan practices were thrown in with Christian belief, add a little water, and you have the modern Catholic church. Of course, that's a discussion that can be carried on in another thread.

However, the point is, even if something has pagan origins doesn't mean that it cannot be used by God for His glory.

I think we're not any better then the Pharisees if we condem the people who worship on what ever day it may be and hopefully everyday.., it could be Monday or any other day of the week or season or holiday, it doesn't matter , but it does matter THAT we worship our Lord.

ITA, His Son. It seems really sick to me for anyone to see all this evil in innocence. Scary. Imagine if all that effort were turned somewhere productive.

I want to first want to talk about the tradition of the 3 wise men. Many people think that 3 wise men named Shezbazzar,Melthbazzar, and Calpthzzar came when Jesus The Messiah was a baby in swaddling clothes lying in a manger. But The Holy Scriptures don't say that.

Matthew 2

1Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem,

2Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him.

3When Herod the king had heard these things, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him.

4And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born.

5And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet,

6And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.

7Then Herod, when he had privily called the wise men, enquired of them diligently what time the star appeared.

8And he sent them to Bethlehem, and said, Go and search diligently for the young child; and when ye have found him, bring me word again, that I may come and worship him also.

9When they had heard the king, they departed; and, lo, the star, which they saw in the east, went before them, till it came and stood over where the young child was.

10When they saw the star, they rejoiced with exceeding great joy.

11And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense and myrrh.

12And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.

First of all,I like to point out that these things:

1.The Holy Bible does not mention how many wise men came to visit Jesus The Messiah. 3 wise men couldn't visit Jesus because they could had been attacked by bandits or whatever. There was probably a decent size caravan to visit Jesus.

2. In verse 11 The Holy Bible says:And when they were come into the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down, and worshipped him... The Holy Bible says that Jesus was young and the wise men came into the house to visit Jesus. I believe what The Holy Bible says and not false tradition. What happened could have been that after Jesus was born Jesus's earthly family decided to stay in Bethelem and that the wise men didn't come until Jesus The Messiah was about 2 earthly years old because when Herod killed the young children that...

16Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem, and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had diligently inquired of the wise men.

So Jesus couldn't have been in no manger or in swaddling clothes or there be 3 wise men as tradition says.

Bibleboy, I have a question: so what if Christmas has a pagan origin? You realize that alot of things we use do not have pure origins right? Even the days of the week and names of the calendar months have pagan origins. But the point is, where does Scripture teach we can't participate in things or use things that have pagan origins? If you read Romans 14, in fact, Paul teaches that under the new covenant we're allowed to eat food which was once sacrificed to idols.

Plus, you need to remember that God looks at the heart. It's your own motive and intent that matters to God. Whatever day you observe, if it's unto the Lord, He will be pleased. Remember, He created every day in the first place.

I goota eat lunch but Jeremiah 10:2 says:Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed

at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

    • You are coming up higher in this season – above the assignments of character assassination and verbal arrows sent to manage you, contain you, and derail your purpose. Where you have had your dreams and sleep robbed, as well as your peace and clarity robbed – leaving you feeling foggy, confused, and heavy – God is, right now, bringing freedom back -- now you will clearly see the smoke and mirrors that were set to distract you and you will disengage.

Right now God is declaring a "no access zone" around you, and your enemies will no longer have any entry point into your life. Oil is being poured over you to restore the years that the locust ate and give you back your passion. This is where you will feel a fresh roar begin to erupt from your inner being, and a call to leave the trenches behind and begin your odyssey in your Christ calling moving you to bear fruit that remains as you minister to and disciple others into their Christ identity.

This is where you leave the trenches and scale the mountain to fight from a different place, from victory, from peace, and from rest. Now watch as God leads you up higher above all the noise, above all the chaos, and shows you where you have been seated all along with Him in heavenly places where you are UNTOUCHABLE. This is where you leave the soul fight, and the mind battle, and learn to fight differently.

You will know how to live like an eagle and lead others to the same place of safety and protection that God led you to, which broke you out of the silent prison you were in. Put your war boots on and get ready to fight back! Refuse to lay down -- get out of bed and rebuke what is coming at you. Remember where you are seated and live from that place.

Acts 1:8 - “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses … to the end of the earth.”

    • Understanding the Enemy!

I thought I write about the flip side of a topic, and how to recognize the attempts of the enemy to destroy lives and how you can walk in His victory!

For the Apostle Paul taught us not to be ignorant of enemy's tactics and strategies.

2 Corinthians 2:112  Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

So often, we can learn lessons by learning and playing "devil's" advocate.  When we read this passage,

Mar 3:26  And if Satan rise up against himself, and be divided, he cannot stand, but hath an end.
Mar 3:27  No man can enter into a strong man's house, and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strongman; and then he will spoil his house.

Here we learn a lesson that in order to plunder one's house you must first BIND up the strongman.  While we realize in this particular passage this is referring to God binding up the strongman (Satan) and this is how Satan's house is plundered.  But if you carefully analyze the enemy -- you realize that he uses the same tactics on us!  Your house cannot be plundered -- unless you are first bound.   And then Satan can plunder your house!

    • Abraham and Issac: Pictures of the Resurrection, Part 2
      Shalom everyone,

As we continue this series the next obvious sign of the resurrection in the Old Testament is the sign of Isaac and Abraham.

Gen 22:1  After these things God tested Abraham and said to him, "Abraham!" And he said, "Here I am."
Gen 22:2  He said, "Take your son, your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah, and offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains of which I shall tell you."

So God "tests" Abraham and as a perfect picture of the coming sacrifice of God's only begotten Son (Yeshua - Jesus) God instructs Issac to go and sacrifice his son, Issac.  Where does he say to offer him?  On Moriah -- the exact location of the Temple Mount.
